How GET OUT is meant to work
In Itagi’s description, the user chooses how much time is available—10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 2+ hours—and an energy preference: Low, Normal, Active, Social, Quiet, or Surprise Me. The app then generates one physical activity based on those choices. One example is taking a familiar route and looking for an unusual detail.

The intended sequence is simple: choose time and energy, receive a mission, put the phone down, and go outside. Itagi summarizes the principle as: “The best AI session is the shortest session.” Read the project description on DEV Community.

What makes its design different
GET OUT is framed around helping someone decide what to do with the time and energy they have, then ending the digital interaction. Itagi says, “The goal isn’t to maximize AI engagement.” Instead, “The goal is to make the user leave the app.” The AI is presented as a prompt toward an offline activity, not the destination itself.

That makes the idea distinct from assistants that invite continued conversation or services built around recommendation feeds. It is a design premise, however, not evidence that the app has been shown to reduce screen time or improve wellbeing.
What technology the creator says it uses
Itagi’s project post lists Qwen3 4B as the open-weight language model, Ollama for local inference, FastAPI and Python for the backend and application logic, and HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend. The post also says generated missions pass safety and mission-quality validation before they are shown.

These are the creator’s descriptions, not independently verified implementation details. The post’s repository field is a placeholder—“Add your GitHub repository link here”—and its demo field likewise says “Add your demo link here.” As a result, the available material does not establish that a working build can be installed or tested.
What “local AI” does—and does not—establish here
The creator presents local inference as a way to run without a paid inference API and avoid sending user context to a third-party AI API. That is the stated design rationale, not an audited privacy guarantee for this project. Without accessible source code or project-specific privacy documentation, it is not possible to verify what information the app handles, whether anything is transmitted, or how the implementation behaves.

Likewise, the stated safety validation cannot be assessed without the underlying code or a usable demo. The project description explains the intended checks but does not provide enough evidence to evaluate their coverage or effectiveness.
