You generally cannot trade owned items, materials, currency, or characters directly with another player in Genshin Impact. HoYoverse’s terms restrict transferring or trading Virtual Currency and Virtual Goods except where specifically permitted. A limited event exchange may be available during a particular event, but it is not a permanent player-trading feature.
Can you trade items or materials with another player?
No general player-to-player trading system lets you transfer items or materials from your inventory to a friend. HoYoverse’s Terms of Service restrict transferring, selling, gifting, exchanging, or trading Virtual Currency and Virtual Goods unless the agreement specifically permits it. The terms also warn that unauthorized access or use may violate account rules and can lead to termination.

The sources do not establish an exhaustive item-by-item list of exceptions, so this is a broad rule rather than a claim that every category has identical treatment. You should not assume that a resource can be transferred just because it can be collected, spent, or used while visiting another player’s world.
What about event exchanges?
Some events can include a limited exchange-like mechanic. For example, HoYoverse’s January 2026 Marvelous Merchandise event notice allowed players to enter another player’s world and exchange through the event’s material-submission mechanic to obtain a desired Box o’ Marvels reward.
That is an event-specific rule, not a way to transfer arbitrary resources from your inventory. Check the current event notice and in-game instructions: availability and mechanics depend on the event.
Can you gift a purchase instead?
Buying a new eligible product for someone is different from trading something you already own. HoYoverse says direct in-game gifting of Blessing of the Welkin Moon is unavailable. Its Help Center guidance points users to official payment methods and some official top-up partners, naming Codashop as an example.

HoYoverse warns that unofficial or unauthorized top-up services can put account or personal information at risk, expose users to payment fraud, or lead to account suspension if transactions are illegal or charged back. Use only the official routes applicable to your region and purchase.

Can Genesis Crystals or Primogems be transferred?
No transfer route is established by the fact that these currencies can be acquired in different ways. Genesis Crystals are premium currency purchased through the in-game shop or an official top-up page. Primogems may be obtained by converting Genesis Crystals or earned through gameplay activities and rewards. These acquisition methods do not make either currency transferable to another player’s account.

What to do when a friend asks you to trade
- Identify what they want. If it is an item, material, character, or currency already in your account, do not expect a direct transfer.
- Check whether a current event expressly allows an exchange. Follow that event’s own rules; an event mechanic applies only to its specified materials and rewards.
- If the goal is a new purchase, use an official payment method or an official top-up partner where available. Direct in-game gifting of Blessing of the Welkin Moon is not available.
- Keep account access private. Do not share login credentials or rely on unofficial trade or top-up offers.
