Can your PC run Gears of War: E-Day?
For local PC play, the published requirements call for a GPU that supports hardware ray tracing. The examples below are from The Coalition’s launch PC specification table, reported by PC Gamer on October 1, 2026; they are tier examples, not a complete compatibility list or a controlled comparison of card performance. PC Gamer’s report of the launch specifications lists these targets:
Recommended Free Tools
| Tier | Published performance target | GPU examples |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum | 1080p at 60 fps | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600 |
| Recommended | 1440p at 60+ fps | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT |
| Ultra | 4K at 60+ fps | Not stated in the cited launch specification report |
The listed cards are examples rather than a promise that every unlisted GPU will work or deliver similar performance. If your exact card is not listed, check the current requirements on the store where you plan to play before buying or upgrading hardware. The launch report also lists 115 GB of SSD storage; this is the October 1, 2026 expanded launch figure.

Does Gears of War: E-Day require ray tracing?
Yes. The PC requirements specify hardware-ray-tracing capability. Upscaling and frame-generation technologies do not remove that stated requirement. Xbox lists NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 with Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Super Resolution, NVIDIA Reflex, AMD FSR, Unreal Engine TSR, Intel XeSS, and Advanced Shader Delivery on compatible hardware. These are PC features, not substitutes for the required GPU capability. Xbox’s announcement describes the PC feature set.

Xbox lists Gears of War: E-Day for Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and Steam. Xbox also names cloud gaming through Game Pass Ultimate and GeForce NOW. Cloud access is a different route from running the game locally on a PC, and availability and terms depend on the service and region. See Xbox’s game page for listed platforms and access options.

For PC owners, the practical check is straightforward: confirm hardware ray-tracing support, then compare the exact GPU and the rest of the system against the current store listing. The published performance tiers help orient expectations, but the example models alone cannot establish how an unlisted card will perform.
