Gears of War: E-Day has three core editions: Standard, Premium, and Premium Edition Upgrade. The Collector’s Edition is a separate physical bundle, not a fourth core edition. US listings put the core editions at $69.99, $99.99, and $30 respectively; prices and availability vary by region and can change. Qualifying preorders also include Exfil Dom and Exfil weapon cosmetics, but the offer ends October 6, 2026, at 7:59 a.m. PT.

Premium costs $30 more than Standard on the cited US Xbox listings, while the upgrade is listed at $30 for Standard owners. Choose based on whether you already own the base game and whether the included cosmetic and seasonal content is worth that added cost to you.
What the preorder bonus includes
Qualifying preorders receive the Exfil Dom character skin and Exfil weapon skin set. The character skin is for Dominic Santiago in Horde Siege and Versus; the weapon set applies to eligible weapons in those modes. Xbox lists the offer as valid for purchases made before October 6, 2026, at 7:59 a.m. PT, at participating retailers while supplies last. It is limited to one offer per person or account, and redemption may require a single-use code. Check that a retailer participates and has the offer available before ordering.

For digital Xbox and Steam preorders, the bonus items are granted automatically. For physical orders, the code may arrive by email or appear on a printed receipt, depending on the region and retailer; ask the retailer how and when it will be delivered.
The preorder promotion also included Early Access to the Open Beta beginning August 6, 2026. That beta-access window has passed.

Collector’s Edition: a separate physical bundle
The Collector’s Edition is sold separately from the three core editions. The official Xbox Game Studios Shop listing showed it at $299.99 in 2026 and out of stock when checked; regional retailers and availability may differ. It includes the Premium Edition digital upgrade as well as physical collectibles.
What is in the bundle
- A 15-inch Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago diorama statue; three AAA batteries are not included.
- A 1:1-scale replica of Carlos Santiago’s COG tags.
- An in-game photo, art print/lithograph, and thank-you note from The Coalition.
- A Luke Preece-designed SteelBook case and collector display packaging.
- The base game and Premium Edition digital upgrade, including early access, the Bravo Squad weapon pack, 1,000 Iron, and five seasonal customization packs.
Xbox Series X buyers receive a physical disc; Steam buyers receive a digital code. Before purchasing, check the exact version, shipping territory, current stock, and what form the game copy takes. The bundle’s price and out-of-stock status refer to the official shop listing, not every retailer.

Release date, platforms, and access
Xbox Wire lists worldwide early access for October 1, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. PT (15:00 UTC), and general release for October 6, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. PT (15:00 UTC). The named platforms are Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and Steam. Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass include the game on its October 6 launch date.
Xbox Play Anywhere applies to a single Xbox/Microsoft Store purchase across Xbox Series X|S and PC. A Steam purchase does not receive that same Xbox Play Anywhere entitlement. Choose the store based on where you intend to play and the account ecosystem you want to use.

- Choose Standard if you want the game without Premium extras, or want the physical Standard copy.
- Choose Premium if its weapon pack, Iron, and seasonal customization packs are worth the extra cost to you. Its early-access period began October 1, so on October 3 it is not a future benefit.
- Choose the upgrade if you already own Standard and the platform storefront confirms your purchase qualifies.
- Consider the Collector’s Edition only if the physical collectibles matter to you and you can confirm current regional stock, shipping, and whether you want the Xbox disc or Steam code.
Standard is also the straightforward option if you expect to play through Game Pass when the game arrives there on October 6. Compare that access with buying a copy before choosing a store or edition.
