Gameloft described the launch app as not monetized. That establishes what the company released then; it does not confirm the app is still officially available or works on current Android phones.
What was Gameloft Classics?
Gameloft Classics was a single Android app that served as a collection of 30 games from the company’s back catalog. Some third-party archives use the longer name Gameloft Classics: 20 Years. Gameloft framed the release as an anniversary gift and a way to revisit earlier mobile games—not as a new standalone game, a set of modern remakes, or a complete archive.
In its April 15, 2020 announcement, Gameloft said it was founded in Paris in 2000 and had developed nearly 800 games. Those are the company’s own anniversary claims. The app’s 30-game selection was a small, curated window into that catalog.
Which games were included?
Gameloft’s announcement named these 30 titles. Grouping them by style makes the range easier to scan; some games could reasonably fit more than one category.

The announcement highlighted N.O.V.A., Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus, Diamond Rush, and Hero of Sparta, among others. If choosing by genre rather than reputation, Bubble Bash 2 is the puzzle pick, Date or Ditch 2 the dating simulation, and Midnight Bowling 3 or 4 the casual sports options. Those are useful starting points, not an objective ranking.
Why the collection is a snapshot of mobile gaming
The selection recalls an era when many mobile games were built for small screens, limited hardware, short sessions, and feature-phone distribution systems. Bringing varied games—from shooters and action adventures to bowling and romance simulations—into a smartphone app made that older mobile catalog easier to encounter in one place.
Gameloft said some titles were appearing on modern smartphones for the first time. That is the company’s launch-era description; it should not be read as proof that every title had never appeared on any smartphone in any region. The announcement does not provide the individual release histories or original control schemes needed to make that broader claim.
Was it free, and which platforms were announced?
At launch, Gameloft called the app “completely free” and said it was “not monetized.” These statements describe the company’s positioning in April 2020, not a guarantee about every distribution channel or the app’s present-day status.
The announcement identified Android devices as the platform for the release. It does not establish that an iOS edition existed or that no other edition ever did, so the careful conclusion is simply that Gameloft announced the collection for Android.

Current official availability and compatibility are unverified. The 2020 announcement confirms the launch, but does not say whether Google Play still lists the app, whether Gameloft continues to support it, or whether its games run correctly on current Android versions. Check the official Google Play listing, if present, and verify the publisher before installing; an old announcement is not evidence of a live listing.
APKMirror has archived package listings for versions 1.2.2 and 1.2.5. Its metadata reports Android 4.1 as the minimum and Android 9 as the target for those historical packages; its version 1.2.5 listing says the update included minor bug fixes. These are archive details, not present-day compatibility guarantees or proof of current Gameloft support: version 1.2.2 listing and version 1.2.5 listing.
An archived APK also is not equivalent to an official store installation. Its authenticity, authorization in your jurisdiction, update path, and safety need separate consideration. Even if an archived app installs, its embedded games could still fail or display poorly on a current device. Without testing a particular phone and Android version, there is no reliable fix to promise for installation or launch problems.

The published list is not a complete Gameloft history. It omits many other titles and well-known licensed properties, so fans should not expect every familiar franchise in the anniversary app. The announcement does not explain why particular games were selected or omitted; licensing, technical conversion, or other constraints would be speculation rather than a confirmed reason.
