The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is still a fast, unusually well-equipped phone, but it is primarily an enthusiast import in 2026. Its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, 150W charging, 120Hz OLED screen and optional 1TB storage remain compelling when the price is low. The bigger question is whether you can accept China-market ColorOS, uncertain carrier features, seller-modified ROMs and limited official support outside China.
What the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is
OnePlus launched the Ace 2 Pro in China on August 16, 2023, with sales beginning August 23. It belongs to the China-focused Ace performance line, not the company’s conventional globally sold numbered flagship range. The phone launched with ColorOS 13.1 based on Android 13 rather than international OxygenOS. OnePlus’ official launch page is at oneplus.com/cn/ace-2-pro-launch.
It is also distinct from the OnePlus Ace 2 and the earlier OnePlus Ace Pro. The Ace 2 uses Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, supports up to 16GB of RAM and charges at 100W; the Ace 2 Pro moves to Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.0 storage and 150W charging. Product references are available for the Ace 2 and Ace Pro.

Performance and gaming
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 remains capable of demanding games, emulation and heavy multitasking, although newer 2025–2026 processors are faster and generally more efficient. LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage help with app loading, installation and large-file transfers. Sustained gaming performance still depends on temperature, cooling and the game’s frame-rate limits; a launch benchmark peak is not a guarantee of long-session performance.
OnePlus promoted a “supercomputing platform,” claiming a 9.4% average improvement over other Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones in comparable scenarios and an AnTuTu score above 1.73 million. Those are launch or manufacturer claims, not independent long-duration laboratory results; the figures depend on benchmark version and test conditions. See the original report at ITHome.
The 24GB model does not have a faster processor than the 12GB or 16GB versions. Its benefit is retaining more applications and accommodating unusually large games or workloads. Most buyers will not see gaming frame rates double because of the extra memory.
Gaming-oriented features include the high-refresh display, touch tuning, a cooling system and wet-touch operation. Pixelworks identified its high-frame-rate gaming technology as part of the device’s platform, but that positioning is vendor-provided rather than an independent performance test: Pixelworks announcement.
Display: sharp and fast, with curved-screen compromises
The 6.74-inch OLED runs at 2772 × 1240, commonly called 1.5K, and refreshes at up to 120Hz. The curved panel, BOE Q9+ material and OnePlus’ “Lingxi Touch” and “Rain Water Touch” features target smooth scrolling and reliable input with damp fingers.
Launch material lists 550 nits of global default brightness, 1,200 nits of global excitation brightness and up to 1,600 nits of local peak brightness. These are different modes and measurement conditions; 1,600 nits should not be read as sustained full-screen brightness. The figures come from OnePlus launch coverage.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute- Advantages: high refresh rate, sharp resolution, strong touch response and useful wet-touch behavior.
- Trade-offs: curved edges can cause accidental touches and make edge damage more expensive to repair; imported software may also show region-specific services.
150W charging and battery considerations
A 5,000mAh battery and 150W wired SUPERVOOC charging are the phone’s most striking practical features. Launch coverage reported a full charge in approximately 17 minutes under specified conditions using the supplied charger. Actual time varies with battery percentage, temperature, cable, charger, charging mode and regional power equipment. Sources: ITHome and Gadgets 360.
Peak wattage is not the same as battery endurance. Nor does it guarantee identical long-term battery health for every unit. OnePlus’ battery-life statements are laboratory or manufacturer claims, not a promise for an imported handset. Heat from gaming while charging and repeated high-power charging can affect comfort and aging.
- Confirm that the listing includes the original 150W adapter and compatible cable.
- Use a plug adapter where necessary; a random “150W” charger may not trigger SUPERVOOC speeds.
- Expect slower charging with an incompatible charger, high temperatures or a protected charging mode.
OnePlus’ China Ace pages provide the company’s charging and battery-health context at oneplus.com/cn/ace and oneplus.com/cn/ace-2.
Cameras: respectable main sensor, modest supporting cameras
The rear array is a 50MP Sony IMX890 main camera with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera. The main sensor is the meaningful camera for everyday photos; the ultrawide is lower specification and the macro unit is largely a convenience feature. There is no dedicated telephoto camera, so the system is not equivalent to a current camera-focused flagship. The configuration is reported by Android Central and Gadgets 360.

China-ROM software: the decisive import issue
The Ace 2 Pro launched with China-market ColorOS 13.1, not the global OxygenOS build used on many international OnePlus models. The official China OS context is at oneplus.com/cn/os.
Exact behavior depends on firmware, model variant, seller modifications and your region. Before buying, investigate:
- Chinese defaults, preinstalled services and available languages.
- Whether Google Play is installed and Play Protect certified.
- Notification delivery and background-app restrictions.
- Compatibility with Android Auto, banking apps, wearables and carrier services.
- OTA updates and whether they come from the official Chinese software channel.
- Bootloader status and the seller’s definition of “global ROM.”
“Global ROM” in a listing does not necessarily mean official OxygenOS. A modified ROM can have unstable updates, altered bootloader status, malware exposure, broken Widevine certification or no manufacturer warranty. Flashing another ROM is not a universal solution: it can cause boot failures, break banking applications, remove OTA functionality and complicate returns.

U.S. and international network compatibility
No blanket U.S. compatibility claim is justified. Check the exact model, commonly listed in databases as PJA110, against your carrier before paying. Bands alone are insufficient: firmware certification, IMS registration and VoLTE support can determine whether calls and 5G actually work.
- Obtain the exact model number from the seller.
- Compare LTE and 5G bands with your carrier’s current requirements, including low- and mid-band 5G.
- Ask whether VoLTE, IMS, Wi-Fi Calling and 5G are tested on that carrier.
- Confirm eSIM support if you need eSIM; do not assume it from a listing.
- Check carrier activation rules, emergency calling and roaming behavior.
- Buy only with a practical return period if compatibility cannot be tested beforehand.
A China-market phone may have matching frequencies yet still lack carrier approval or reliable IMS service.

Design and everyday hardware
The alert slider, stereo speakers, X-axis haptics, in-display fingerprint reader, NFC and infrared remote are useful differentiators. NFC payment behavior can be region- and certification-dependent. Dual-SIM details can also vary by exact regional configuration, so confirm them with the seller rather than relying on a generic specification page. At roughly 210g and 8.98mm, it is substantial, especially with a case.
Which configuration makes sense?
| Version | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| 12GB/256GB | Value-focused buyers and ordinary app use | Least headroom for large games, media and long-term storage |
| 16GB/512GB | Most enthusiasts and heavy multitaskers | Costs more than the base model without changing processor speed |
| 24GB/1TB | Large game libraries, emulation, offline video and storage collectors | Only worthwhile when the premium is modest; newer phones may offer better cameras and support |
Is the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro worth buying in 2026?
It makes sense when
- The import is substantially cheaper than a newer performance phone.
- You prioritize gaming, rapid charging and storage over camera quality.
- You are comfortable troubleshooting ColorOS and Google-service limitations.
- Your carrier compatibility, VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling have been verified.
- The seller documents the ROM, charger, battery condition and return policy.
Choose something else when
- You need official U.S. warranty service or guaranteed carrier certification.
- Android Auto, eSIM, banking apps, Wi-Fi Calling or smartwatch integration are essential.
- You want current camera hardware, a telephoto lens or a longer support horizon.
- The seller cannot identify the model, firmware channel or charger.
- The landed price approaches that of a newer global OnePlus phone.
Alternatives to consider
OnePlus Ace 2
The Ace 2 is a lower-cost member of the same China-market family with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, up to 16GB RAM and 100W charging. It may be sensible when much cheaper, but it gives up the Ace 2 Pro’s performance and storage ceiling and carries similar import concerns. See OnePlus’ Ace 2 page.
OnePlus 11
The OnePlus 11 is the safer comparison for buyers who want a conventional international software and support path in regions where it was officially sold, plus a more camera-focused flagship design. The Ace 2 Pro wins mainly on 150W charging and high-capacity configurations.
OnePlus 12, OnePlus 13 and newer phones
Newer numbered models offer newer silicon, more current software support and stronger camera platforms. A newer China-only Ace model may also improve performance or battery technology, but it retains many of the same ColorOS, carrier and warranty risks. OnePlus’ China index lists newer models, including the OnePlus 13.
Import buying checklist
- Exact RAM and storage configuration
- Exact model number and region
- Original China ROM or seller-modified ROM
- Google Play installation and certification
- Bootloader and OTA-update behavior
- Original 150W charger, cable and plug type
- LTE/5G bands, VoLTE, IMS and Wi-Fi Calling for your carrier
- New, used or refurbished status and battery health
- Warranty location, return address and return period
- Repair or region-unlock history
Third-party listings are not proof of official global availability. Treat the seller’s firmware description and total landed cost as part of the phone’s specifications.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro run OxygenOS?
It launched as a China-market phone with ColorOS 13.1 based on Android 13. A seller-installed “global ROM” may be modified software, not official global OxygenOS.
Recommended Free Tools
Is 24GB RAM necessary?
No. It can retain more apps and provide 1TB storage, but it does not make the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor faster than the 12GB or 16GB versions.
Can I use it on a U.S. carrier?
Possibly, but there is no universal guarantee. Verify the exact model’s bands, VoLTE/IMS registration, Wi-Fi Calling, 5G activation and carrier approval before purchase.
