One UI 9 adds more ways to use the Galaxy Z Flip7’s FlexWindow while the phone is folded: you can launch and switch between apps, edit widgets without unfolding, and access Now Brief and favorite-app shortcuts. Samsung’s update records confirm One UI 9 for specific Flip7 variants, but availability and feature wording vary by market, model, and carrier.
What One UI 9 changes on the FlexWindow
Samsung’s update notes for the Canadian Galaxy Z Flip7 model SM-F766W describe several new folded-screen workflows. The outer display was already useful before this update; One UI 9 makes some tasks more direct.

- Now Brief and favorite apps: The notes list personalized daily information and quick access to favorite apps on the cover screen. Now Brief’s availability can depend on supported features and settings.
- Launch apps from the cover screen: Swipe up to see available apps and open one. Samsung’s notes say Good Lock can enable additional apps.
- Switch among recent apps: Open the recent-apps screen from the cover display to switch to another app or return to one you were using.
- Edit widgets while folded: Change widgets directly on the FlexWindow instead of opening the phone first.
- Reach notifications and quick settings: Swipe down from the top-right for quick settings, or swipe down elsewhere on the cover screen to view notifications.
The SM-F766W notes are regional and in Traditional Chinese. Samsung’s U.S. update record separately confirms One UI 9 for the SM-F766U, but the reviewed U.S. record is in Korean. Check the notice for your own model and region for the exact feature details.
