How can it weigh more without getting thicker?
Thickness is only one dimension. A phone can gain mass if materials or components inside it become heavier, or if more of the available internal volume is occupied, without changing the outside thickness. A larger or denser battery is the leading explanation offered for the rumored four-gram increase, but the reports do not provide a verified component-by-component weight breakdown.
Some coverage also raises possibilities such as Qi2 magnets or camera changes. Those remain speculation here: no cited source establishes that either contributes to the reported weight.
Is the S27 Ultra getting a bigger battery?
That is possible, but the capacity rumor is unresolved. The July 31 report points to a 5,700 mAh silicon-carbon pack; the earlier June 1 report says the battery could be larger than 6,000 mAh. These are competing leaks, not confirmed specifications, and neither figure establishes what battery Samsung will ship.

Is 218 g confirmed, and when might the phone arrive?
No. The 218 g weight and 7.9 mm thickness are repeated reports of an Ice Universe leak, not Samsung product documentation. The reliable comparison point is the S26 Ultra’s official 214 g weight and 7.9 mm thickness. The S27 series is expected in early 2027, but no official launch date has been announced.
