The S25 is the lower-priced entry point; the iPhone 18 Pro offers more listed storage options and a different camera system. Neither phone is a universal winner: your preferred platform, storage needs, and priorities matter more than a spec-sheet verdict.

Display diagonals are close, but they are not exact measures of usable screen area: Samsung distinguishes the full rectangle from the rounded-corner area, and Apple notes that its viewable area is smaller than the rectangular measurement. How much more does the iPhone 18 Pro cost?
AT&T’s U.S. comparison page, accessed in 2026, lists the Galaxy S25 at $799.99 and iPhone 18 Pro at $1,199.99 as starting retail prices. Subtracting those listed prices gives a $400 gap. These are retailer-listed starting prices, not a guarantee of what every retailer, storage tier, carrier, or buyer will pay. AT&T also lists installment terms and makes its iPhone promotional monthly offer conditional on plan and trade-in eligibility. Compare the outright price and eligibility requirements separately from any advertised monthly payment. AT&T’s comparison and offer terms.

Storage: compare like with like
The AT&T comparison lists Galaxy S25 configurations of 128GB and 256GB. Apple’s launch announcement lists iPhone 18 Pro capacities from 256GB through 2TB. The iPhone therefore starts at twice the listed base storage of the S25, and offers larger tiers—but the $400 starting-price difference is not a matched-storage comparison. Check the price for the capacity you actually need on each phone before deciding which is better value. Apple’s listed iPhone storage options; AT&T’s listed S25 configurations.
Displays and size
The S25 is listed with a 6.2-inch display and the iPhone 18 Pro with a 6.3-inch display. That one-tenth-inch diagonal difference is small; the measurement conventions also mean the figures do not say precisely how much active screen area you see. If handling or one-handed use is important, compare both phones in person where possible rather than treating the diagonal as a complete measure of comfort.

Camera hardware: different reach and controls
AT&T’s specification comparison lists a 50MP wide camera, 10MP 3x optical telephoto, and 12MP ultrawide for the S25. For iPhone 18 Pro it lists a 48MP main camera with variable aperture, a 48MP ultrawide, and a 48MP 4x telephoto, plus an 8x optical-quality mode. Those specifications describe different lens ranges and controls, not which phone takes better pictures.
The selected sources do not provide controlled, directly comparable camera testing. The lens and megapixel figures alone cannot establish results in low light, moving subjects, video, or everyday use. Choose based on the focal lengths and camera controls you expect to use, and consult same-scene samples or hands-on testing if image quality is decisive.

Performance and battery claims
The listed processors are Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy and Apple A20 Pro. Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro delivers up to 40 percent more sustained performance than the previous-generation iPhone 17 Pro; that is Apple’s comparison with its own prior model, not a head-to-head result against the S25. The cited evidence does not include a direct benchmark comparison between these phones.
Battery figures are also not directly comparable. AT&T lists the S25’s 4,000mAh capacity and talk-time figures, while Apple claims up to 36 hours of video playback for the eSIM-only iPhone 18 Pro, based on August 2026 preproduction-device testing and a representative usage profile. Different metrics and test methods cannot determine which lasts longer in your use. No same-method battery test is established by the cited sources. Apple’s launch announcement and testing notes.

Water resistance and durability
Apple specifies IP68 for iPhone 18 Pro, with a maximum depth of 6m for up to 30 minutes under IEC 60529. The cited comparison excerpts do not establish a corresponding S25 water-resistance figure, so they are not enough to compare the phones’ ratings or infer equal test conditions. Check each manufacturer’s current regional specifications and warranty terms if water exposure is a major concern.

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose Galaxy S25 if its lower listed U.S. starting price is the priority and 128GB or 256GB meets your storage needs.
- Choose iPhone 18 Pro if you prefer Apple’s platform and want the listed 256GB starting capacity, options up to 2TB, or its specified camera features.
- Compare further before choosing if camera results, gaming speed, or battery endurance will decide the purchase. The specifications and claims above do not establish a controlled overall winner on those measures.
Platform preference and the devices or services you already use are personal considerations, not measurements that a specification table can settle. If you are undecided, try each phone’s operating system and check matched-storage prices before committing.
