Which Galaxy S23 models support eSIM?

Can the S23 use a physical SIM and an eSIM together?
Samsung describes using one physical SIM with one eSIM simultaneously on the S23 series. This is the key hybrid arrangement, but it should not be confused with support for two physical SIM cards: dual-physical-SIM configurations may exist in select models or markets and are not universal across the S23 family. Does eSIM work with every carrier and plan?
No. Samsung says the carrier must support eSIM, and the carrier and plan determine whether a particular device can be activated. Support also varies by geography. Samsung’s Mexico support page, updated September 24, 2026, includes the S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra among supported Galaxy devices while cautioning that availability differs by country of origin and location. How do you add an eSIM to a Galaxy S23?

Connect to Wi-Fi or another available network if the carrier’s profile download requires internet access.

Open Settings > Connections > SIM manager.

Tap Add eSIM. Follow the activation method offered by your carrier. Samsung describes scanning a carrier-provided QR code or searching for a carrier plan; a carrier may instead provide another supported method.

In SIM Manager, enable the line and select the primary SIM for calls, texts, or data if those controls are available for your device and provider.
The menu labels and available activation methods can differ by software version, device model, and carrier. Samsung identifies options such as QR activation, carrier discovery, a carrier push notification, or transfer from another device; the carrier determines which routes are available.
