Samsung lists 15 W wireless charging for the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra. That is the manufacturer’s rated specification—not a promise that every pad and phone setup will deliver 15 W or reach a full charge in a particular time. You can enable Fast wireless charging in Battery settings, while Wireless PowerShare is a separate feature for charging another compatible device from your phone.
What wireless charging does the Galaxy S22 support?
Samsung’s specifications list 15 W wireless charging for each model in the Galaxy S22 series: the S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra. Samsung’s launch information also identifies Wireless PowerShare as a separate capability. Samsung’s Galaxy S22 series specifications and its February 9, 2022 launch announcement establish what Samsung lists, not independently measured charging performance.

The 15 W figure is not a guaranteed session speed or time-to-full. Actual charging depends on the charger and its power input, phone placement, case or accessories, temperature, and the phone’s state. Samsung’s cited material does not establish a particular charging duration or show that wireless charging matches wired charging speed.

On the Galaxy S22 series, Samsung’s support instructions place the control in Battery settings. Menu names and locations can differ across software versions, so look for the setting on the phone rather than relying on a fixed path:

- Open Settings and go to Battery or the battery section of device care.
- Open the battery’s charging or related settings and switch on Fast wireless charging, if that option is shown.
- Place the phone on a compatible wireless charger and check that charging begins.
Samsung’s Galaxy S22 fast-charging guide documents the setting. Fast wireless charging is a setting; it does not make an incompatible pad or setup deliver the phone’s listed maximum.
Wireless PowerShare is for charging another device
Ordinary wireless charging supplies power to the S22 from a charging pad. Wireless PowerShare reverses the direction: the S22 acts as a wireless charging source for another compatible device. Samsung’s support guide describes turning it on from the Quick panel. The exact panel layout may vary with software.

- Open the Quick panel and select Wireless PowerShare. If it is not visible, edit or expand the panel to find available controls.
- Place the devices back-to-back, adjusting their positions until the receiving device makes a good connection.
- Remove cases or accessories from either device if they interfere with the connection.
Only devices that support wireless charging can receive power this way. Samsung’s Brazilian Galaxy S22 charging guidance, last updated March 19, 2026, also explains device positioning and removing interfering covers. PowerShare is not the same as placing the S22 on a charging pad.

Do not assume every Qi-compatible pad will charge the S22 at 15 W. Samsung advises checking certification for third-party wireless chargers. Before buying a specific model, verify its documented compatibility with the S22, charging standard or certification, rated wireless output, and required wall adapter or power input. Also consider whether you want a flat pad or stand and whether you need simultaneous charging for multiple devices; those are product-specific features, not guaranteed by the phone’s specification.

Samsung’s wireless-charging troubleshooting and compatibility guidance discusses charger certification and wireless charging pads. Check the exact charger model and its current specifications: the S22’s 15 W listing does not establish a particular pad’s speed, adapter inclusion, price, or availability.

- Reposition the phone. Center it on the pad and adjust its placement. If using PowerShare, position the devices back-to-back and adjust them for a stable connection.
- Remove the case temporarily. Take off the phone case and any accessories that might interfere, then try again.
- Check the charger and power source. Make sure the pad is connected to power and verify that the charger is compatible and certified. For a third-party charger, check its exact model and rated output.
- Check charging settings. Look in Battery settings for Fast wireless charging if you are troubleshooting faster charging; software versions may present menus differently.
- Confirm the receiving device supports wireless charging. This applies when the S22 is sending power through Wireless PowerShare.
Samsung’s wireless charging support page lists the S22 family as compatible and recommends checking third-party charger certification. If the phone still does not charge after these checks, consult Samsung support for diagnosis rather than assuming the pad or phone is defective.
