Samsung lists an August 5, 2026 security patch for several Galaxy S21 FE 5G variants running Android 16. The firmware records show different builds and release dates by model, so there is no single rollout date that applies to every S21 FE.
Which Galaxy S21 FE models received the August 2026 patch?
Samsung’s firmware notices list the following Android 16 releases. The dates are the release dates shown in Samsung’s records, not a guarantee that every phone received an over-the-air notification that day.

What does the update change?
Samsung describes the changes in these device notices as security improvements. The notices do not list a new S21 FE feature set or provide measured battery-life or performance results. Samsung’s August 2026 Security Maintenance Release page provides broader package-level vulnerability context, but its listed CVEs should not be treated as confirmation that each one maps to a particular S21 FE build.
#1 Best Overall
- The Galaxy S21 FE sports a sleek polycarbonate back with a premium matte finish that resists fingerprints and feels smooth in hand, giving it a stylish yet practical design.
Why might the update not have reached your phone yet?
Samsung’s records establish that firmware releases were listed; they do not establish that every eligible handset received an update prompt on the same date. Samsung cautions: “The exact changes may differ depending on your device model, country, and service provider.” Check your precise model and carrier or region before comparing your software version with another S21 FE.
For the U.S., Verizon lists September 22, 2026 as the release date for its Galaxy S21 FE 5G update and identifies the security patch level as August 2026. That is a carrier-specific record, not a schedule for every U.S. carrier or unlocked phone. See Verizon’s support record.

How to check your S21 FE’s update
- Open Settings and tap About phone to find the model number.
- Open Settings > Software update > Download and install to check for an available update.
- After installation, check the software information for the build and Android security patch level, then compare those details with the record for your exact model and carrier or region.
Does the S21 FE still receive Android upgrades?
Samsung’s 2022 policy announcement included the Galaxy S21 FE among devices eligible for up to four generations of One UI and Android OS upgrades. That policy is useful upgrade context, but it does not promise a particular security-patch frequency or a specific release date. See Samsung’s policy announcement.
