First, make sure you are comparing the 4G realme P4 Lite
This comparison is for India’s realme P4 Lite 4G, not the separately named P4 Lite 5G. realme’s official specification page labels the phone “4G Mode” and lists LTE bands; Samsung identifies its counterpart as the Galaxy M17 5G. Which screen is the better fit?
The M17’s 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel and the P4 Lite’s slightly larger 6.74-inch HD+ screen prioritise different things. Samsung names the panel technology; realme specifies resolution and a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. The P4 Lite’s higher stated refresh rate may make supported motion look smoother, but refresh rate alone does not establish overall display quality. The available specifications do not provide a like-for-like brightness or resolution comparison for both phones.

Samsung specifies a 50MP main rear camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), alongside ultra-wide and macro cameras, and a 13MP front camera. realme lists a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. OIS is a hardware distinction that can help counter camera movement, but these specifications do not establish which phone takes better photos. Megapixel counts alone are not a reliable measure of image quality.

Battery capacity and charging
realme rates the P4 Lite battery at 6300mAh typical and 6235mAh minimum, with 15W VOOC charging; the manufacturer says an adapter is included. Samsung’s 5000mAh capacity and 25W charging figures come from a third-party comparison listing rather than the cited primary launch announcement, so treat them as less firmly sourced. Rated capacity and charging wattage do not show real-world battery life or charging time, and no controlled test comparing these phones is established here.
Prices: Samsung’s launch figures, not today’s price gap
Samsung announced India launch prices on October 13, 2025. The 4GB/128GB model was announced at ₹12,499 as a net price including a special launch offer; the 6GB/128GB configuration was ₹13,999, and the 8GB/128GB configuration was ₹15,499. These are historical launch prices, not confirmed current prices. The cited official realme specifications do not establish a price for the P4 Lite 4G, and a surfaced third-party comparison concerned the separate P4 Lite 5G. Therefore, a current price difference between the two exact phones cannot be calculated from these figures. Check live India listings and match storage variants before deciding on price.

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy M17 5G if you want a 5G model, Super AMOLED display, OIS-equipped main camera or a higher-resolution front camera on paper.
- Consider the realme P4 Lite 4G if 4G meets your needs and its larger stated battery capacity, 90Hz refresh rate or 64GB storage option suits your priorities.
- Compare the live prices before buying if value is decisive; use the exact model name and memory configuration, and do not substitute a P4 Lite 5G listing for the 4G phone.
