The clearest differences in the available specifications are the rear-camera layouts and the M47’s larger battery as reported by a secondary source. A reliable price difference cannot be calculated from the available listings: Samsung’s M47 page is for India, while its A36 page is for Ireland.

What differs in the displays?
Samsung specifies the A36’s screen as a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Samsung India M47 page confirms a Super AMOLED display and 120Hz refresh rate. A third-party comparison listing gives the M47 a 6.70-inch FHD+ display, but those size and resolution details should be checked against the Samsung specification sheet for the exact country and model before treating them as official.

How do the cameras compare?
Both phones list a 50MP main rear camera with OIS and a 12MP front camera. Their other rear cameras differ: Samsung lists an 8MP and a 5MP camera alongside the A36’s main camera, while the M47 page lists 5MP and 2MP supporting cameras.
These figures describe camera hardware, not photo results. Megapixel counts do not establish which phone takes better pictures, and there is no controlled head-to-head camera test in the cited material. A buyer focused on photography should look for sample images or testing of the exact regional models rather than infer a winner from resolution alone.
Which has the bigger battery?
Samsung Ireland specifies a typical 5,000mAh battery for the A36. Gadgets 360 reports 6,000mAh for the M47, but the cited Samsung M47 specification lines do not give a battery capacity. Treat the M47 figure as secondary-source reporting and verify it against the local model’s official specifications before relying on it.

Both Samsung product pages advertise 45W fast charging. Samsung states that the M47’s fast charger is sold separately; confirm what is included with the A36 in the market where you plan to buy it. Capacity and charging wattage do not, by themselves, establish actual endurance or charging time.

Software updates
Samsung states six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the A36. For the M47, Samsung describes the same counts from its first global launch and notes that the policy is subject to change. The shared headline policy does not establish that updates will arrive on the same dates in every region.
Water, dust and screen protection
Samsung Ireland lists IP67 protection and Gorilla Glass Victus+ for the A36. Samsung’s M47 page promotes water/dust resistance and Gorilla Glass Victus+, but the cited specification information does not provide an IP rating for comparison. Do not assume the M47 has the A36’s IP67 rating based on general resistance wording; check the exact regional model’s official rating and warranty terms.

What is the price difference?
No defensible like-for-like price difference is established here. The cited M47 product page is Samsung India’s listing for an 8GB/128GB Rogue Red model, whereas the A36 specification page comes from Samsung Ireland. Those pages do not provide a current, same-country price pair matched for memory, storage, seller and date.

For a useful comparison, check both phones in the same country and compare the same storage tier, seller or sales channel, and purchase conditions. Record the date because live prices and stock change. If the M47 is not officially sold in your market, its India listing price is not a direct local alternative price.
Quick Recap
Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the A36 if you want the specifications clearly stated on Samsung’s Ireland page, including a 5,000mAh typical battery and an explicit IP67 rating. Those details apply to that regional listing; check your own market’s model and terms.
- Consider the M47 if its India-market availability and configuration suit you, and its camera layout or reported larger battery match your priorities. Verify the battery capacity and exact display specifications for the local variant.
- Choose by local price only after matching configurations. A comparison across Ireland and India listings cannot show which phone is cheaper for a particular buyer.
