Their core display, battery and charging specifications are similar, so the better buy depends on current local prices, configuration and which differences matter to you.

Specifications can vary by market and configuration. Samsung’s display measurements refer to the full rectangle; the viewable area is smaller because of rounded corners and the camera opening.

What is different about the A27’s design and display?
Both phones use a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The notable visible change is the A27’s Infinity-O punch-hole camera opening and Samsung-described more balanced bezel design. Samsung lists the A27 at 162.4 × 78.2 × 7.8mm and 200g; its US A26 page lists a 7.7mm body.

That makes the A27 a design update rather than a change in headline screen size or refresh class. A punch-hole opening may look more modern than the A26’s front-camera layout, but display preference is subjective.

Does the A27 have a faster processor?
The A27 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, while the A26’s processor differs by region: Samsung identifies Exynos 1380 globally and Exynos 1280 in Latin America. The A27 therefore moves to a newer, clearly identified platform, but these specifications alone do not establish how much faster it feels in everyday use. No independent side-by-side benchmark results are available here.
Samsung also lists A27 software features including multi-object recognition in Circle to Search, an improved Object Eraser, voice transcription translation in 22 languages, and support for Gemini, Perplexity and Bixby. Feature availability can depend on region, language, account, connectivity and software version; the list is not a guarantee that every function works in every market.

Which phone has the better cameras?
The camera specifications involve a trade-off, not a clear overall winner. Both phones have a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization and a 2MP macro camera. The A26 has an 8MP ultrawide compared with the A27’s 5MP ultrawide, while the A27 lists a 12MP front camera against the A26’s 13MP.
Samsung says the A27 front camera captures a wider range of brightness and richer colors than the A26’s. That is Samsung’s stated comparison, not an independent test result. Megapixel counts alone do not determine image quality; sensors, optics, image processing and shooting conditions all matter.

Is the A26 more durable?
Samsung publishes an IP67 rating for the A26 and IP64 for the A27, giving the A26 the higher ingress-protection rating. Neither rating means a phone is waterproof, and a rating is not a promise that a device will remain protected after damage or wear.
Are battery life and charging different?
Samsung lists a typical 5000mAh battery for both models and 25W wired charging in the cited specifications. The A27’s listed rated-minimum capacity is 4860mAh; its typical figure is the one comparable to the A26’s published typical capacity. These figures do not show which phone lasts longer: no controlled battery-life comparison is available, and real runtime varies with use, network conditions and settings.

How much more does the Galaxy A27 cost?
There is no reliable current price difference to quote from the available US figures because they refer to different dates and price types. Samsung announced a US A27 launch price starting at $349.99 on June 25, 2026. Samsung’s US buy page displayed $379.99 for an unlocked 128GB Black A27 when accessed on October 7, 2026. Separately, Samsung’s MSRP sheet effective March 2026 listed the unlocked 128GB A26 at $299.99 and marked that SKU EOL. These are not synchronized street prices, and the A26 figure is not evidence of current stock or a current selling price.

Which one should you choose?
Choose the A27 if
- You want the newer Snapdragon platform and punch-hole front-display design.
- You value Samsung’s stated front-camera improvements and the A27’s additional software features.
- Its same-day price for your preferred configuration is close to or lower than the A26’s.
Choose the A26 if
- You prefer its higher-resolution 8MP ultrawide specification.
- You value its higher published IP67 ingress-protection rating.
- You find it at a sufficiently lower current price, in the storage and condition you want.
Before choosing, confirm the exact regional model and software support terms on Samsung’s local product page. The A27 is a generation newer, but that alone does not make it the better purchase at every price.
