The company has not announced that the change will extend to other countries, and the available reporting did not confirm an equivalent Fujifilm increase outside Japan as of October 3. Other brands have made separate price changes or discussed cost pressures, but there is no evidence here of a coordinated industry-wide rise.
What Fujifilm changed in Japan
Fujifilm Imaging Systems’ notice, dated September 30, 2026, applies from October 1 and describes revisions to the company’s shipping prices—not a guaranteed identical increase in every retailer’s final price. It covers named products rather than Fujifilm’s entire catalog.

Why Fujifilm says it raised prices
Fujifilm attributed the revision to rising materials, manufacturing and logistics costs. It said it had tried to absorb those pressures through better production efficiency and expense reductions, but that company efforts alone were no longer enough. Will Fujifilm prices rise in the US, UK or elsewhere?
No matching Fujifilm price revision in other countries was confirmed in the cited reporting as of October 3, 2026. Digital Camera World reported on October 1 that U.S. prices for the affected products appeared unchanged at the time. It also noted higher UK prices for some examples, but said it could not establish that those prices resulted from the new Japanese change rather than earlier regional pricing changes. A Japanese manufacturer shipping-price revision and a local consumer price are not interchangeable. Retail prices can also be affected by seller pricing and discounts. Check the current price with a local retailer rather than assuming the Japanese percentage applies where you live.

What other camera brands have done or said
Nikon: a separate Japan revision, plus conditional comments
Nikon Imaging Japan announced a separate revision effective June 1, 2026, covering four Z-series mirrorless camera items as well as binoculars, magnifiers and one binocular accessory. Its notice cited increases in materials, manufacturing and logistics costs and said those costs could not be absorbed through company efforts over the medium to long term. Separately, Nikon’s May 2026 financial-results Q&A was reported as saying the company “may also consider passing on price increases depending on the situation” as memory costs rise. Ricoh: reported changes varied by market
Digital Camera World reported list-price increases for Ricoh GR-series cameras in the U.S., UK, Australia and Canada during 2026. The affected models and changes differed by market. Its report also described an earlier Ricoh Japan explanation citing raw-material and manufacturing costs. Canon: cost pressures and possible responses, not a camera-price announcement
Canon’s July 27, 2026 results presentation cited higher memory prices, raw-material costs connected with higher oil prices and related transport costs as pressures in its 2026 outlook. Canon said it would monitor memory prices and seek to mitigate the impact through price increases and further cost reductions. What this means if you are planning a camera purchase
- Use the price in your own market, from a current local seller, as the basis for a buying decision; the Fujifilm percentages apply to its named products’ Japanese shipping prices.
- Distinguish a manufacturer’s announced price revision from a retailer’s price, a temporary promotion or the removal of a discount.
- Do not assume a future local increase is inevitable. Fujifilm had not confirmed one outside Japan in the cited reporting as of October 3, 2026.
For broader context, the available examples point to cost pressures and separate company decisions—not a reliable forecast that every brand or country will see the same increase.
