The talks and the company’s reported 2025 financial figures have not been confirmed in a primary company announcement or independently verified accounts, so no completed deal or public investment offer is established.
Which company is reportedly seeking investors?
A report published by Wisevoter on 1 October 2026 identifies the company as Scapêche, part of the French Agromousquetaires group, and says its primary Scottish base is Lochinver. The report says the company is discussing potential investors. A French-language post by journalist Mélanie Chartier also says Agromousquetaires is seeking partners for its fishing businesses and describes Scapêche as being in financial difficulty, but does not name investors or provide terms. Wisevoter’s report and Chartier’s post are secondary reporting, not company announcements.
The available reporting does not establish whether the talks relate only to Scapêche or to a wider Agromousquetaires fishing division. It also does not show that a deal has been completed, that a public investment offer exists, or that individuals can invest. No current statement from a named company representative about the discussions is available in the sources reviewed.
What does the report say about Scapêche’s finances?
Wisevoter reports a 2025 turnover of €16.9 million and a loss of €4.9 million. It also reports that Agromousquetaires recapitalized the business by €15 million. These figures all come from the same secondary report; they have not been independently confirmed here against audited accounts or a primary company source. The recapitalization’s terms and timing are not established beyond that report.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The reasons for the reported loss are likewise unconfirmed. The available sources do not establish that fuel costs, Brexit, or fishing restrictions caused Scapêche’s result, so those factors should not be treated as proven explanations for this company’s financial position.
What is known about its Scottish operations?
Wisevoter describes Lochinver as Scapêche’s primary base and reports a fleet of five vessels registered in Lorient, France, with approximately 200 seafarers. These are figures attributed to that report, and the current operational status of the vessels, base, and workforce has not been independently verified. The report does not establish how any investor discussions might affect Scottish operations or crew.

What historical context helps explain the business?
A 2016 interview in Réussir said Agromousquetaires planned to invest €50 million in its Sustainable Fishing 2025 plan, including replacing or modernizing parts of Scapêche’s then 23-vessel fleet. That was a plan stated at the time—not evidence that the investment was completed or that the company currently follows the same strategy. In that interview, then Agromousquetaires president Didier Duhaupand said: “Le consommateur recherche un poisson de qualité à prix compétitif toute l’année, mais il est aussi de plus en plus sensible à une consommation responsable.” He was discussing consumer expectations, not current investor talks.
A European Commission-funded ownership study published in 2021 describes historical consolidation and foreign investment in the French fishing fleet. It discusses low margins and access to fishing opportunities as factors in past transactions across the sector; it does not identify the cause of Scapêche’s reported current difficulties.
