Freedcamp publishes meaningful security and recovery measures, but its public documentation does not independently verify them or establish a measured uptime record. The company describes encryption, restricted staff access, external security audits, redundant storage and backups. Those are vendor statements, not proof of a certification held by Freedcamp or a guarantee that the service will always be available. If your team depends on it for sensitive or business-critical work, verify the safeguards included in your plan and keep an independent copy of important data.
What security measures does Freedcamp describe?
Freedcamp’s Security Practices page says it encrypts traffic in transit and data at rest, limits employee access to cases where it is necessary, patches hosts and databases, uses intrusion detection, centralizes security and availability logs, and maintains incident-management procedures. Freedcamp also says it will promptly notify customers if it learns of unauthorized access to their user data. These are the provider’s descriptions of its practices; the page does not independently demonstrate their implementation or effectiveness.

Certifications and audits
The security page says the hosting environment’s data centers maintain ISO 27001 compliance, PCI certification and SOC reports, and points readers to AWS security and compliance resources. That wording concerns the hosting environment and data centers; it does not establish that Freedcamp itself holds ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certification.
Freedcamp also says it contracts with two external security firms for audits four times a year and runs continuous hybrid automated scanning of its web platform. The page, updated 22 August 2026, does not publish audit reports, scope, criteria, findings or remediation status. The frequency is a vendor-reported claim, not a public audit result or certification.

How does Freedcamp handle backups and recovery?
Freedcamp says user data is stored redundantly in multiple locations at its hosting provider. Its security page, updated 22 August 2026, claims automatic backups support recovery with one-minute precision for the last 30 days. This describes the provider’s stated capability; it is not an independently tested recovery result or a customer-facing recovery-time guarantee.
Backup availability depends on the plan. Freedcamp says administrators of paid service versions have a backup service, while its Terms of Service qualify backups as included only when they are part of a customer’s plan and state that included backups have 90-day retention. Confirm which backup service applies, how restoration works for your account and whether you can restore data yourself.

What happens to data and personal information?
Freedcamp’s Privacy Policy says it uses hosting providers in the United States and may use third parties for hosting, maintenance, backups, storage, virtual infrastructure, payment processing and analytics. It says these providers handle information under Freedcamp’s instructions and policies. If you connect other apps, review their privacy terms and permissions separately; Freedcamp says its policy does not govern how third-party apps handle personal information.

It also allows retention for legal obligations, disputes, enforcement of agreements and business operations. Deleting an account therefore should not be assumed to erase every copy immediately. The policy page lists an effective date of 10 May 2018 and an update to its Data Privacy Framework wording on 10 June 2024; check the live policy for any later changes.

Freedcamp’s privacy policy also cautions that no security system is impenetrable and that it cannot guarantee data is absolutely safe from intrusion while being transmitted or stored. This is a general limitation, not evidence of a particular breach.
Is Freedcamp reliable enough for business-critical work?
Freedcamp says its infrastructure is designed to tolerate the failure of individual servers or entire data centers. It also describes redundant data storage, regular disaster-recovery exercises and an around-the-clock on-call team. These descriptions concern architecture and procedures; they do not establish actual availability.

The public sources reviewed do not establish a Freedcamp uptime percentage, a complete incident history or a public status page. That leaves reliability unquantified; it is not proof that the service is unreliable, nor evidence of perfect uptime. Freedcamp’s terms say maintenance or other causes can disrupt service, promise reasonable efforts to give advance notice, and disclaim a warranty that service will be uninterrupted or timely. They also make users responsible for adequate security, protection and backup of their data.

What independent evidence is available?
Cloudwards’ Freedcamp review, updated 23 July 2026, describes the public security detail as limited and flags security features as a concern. It discusses SAML and two-factor authentication by plan; verify current availability and plan terms directly with Freedcamp. The review is an editorial assessment, not an audit or proof of a breach.
Capterra’s review page, updated 29 September 2026, displayed a 4.7 overall rating from 503 reviews. Ratings can provide user-experience context, but they do not measure cybersecurity, uptime or incident frequency.

- Authentication and administration: Confirm the login methods, two-factor authentication, SAML and administrator controls available on the specific plan.
