Free Custom-Domain Email: What Zoho Mail Offers—and What Chosenly.com Does Not Document

Zoho Mail publishes a free custom-domain email plan with limits and regional eligibility. Chosenly’s support address shows company domain use, not a public email-hosting offer.

Zoho Mail documents a free custom-domain email plan; Chosenly.com does not document one. Zoho’s published terms describe a plan for up to five users, with 5 GB per user and hosting for one domain, but availability is limited to select data centers. Chosenly’s terms show that the company uses its own domain for a support address, not that it provides email hosting. If you want an address at your own domain, Zoho is the only one of these two with a documented offering.

What Zoho Mail’s free custom-domain plan includes

Zoho’s published plan is aimed at small teams with five or fewer users and limited needs. It lists 5 GB of storage per user and hosting for one domain; it also caps custom-domain email addresses at five. The free plan is available only in select Zoho data centers, so the listed limits do not guarantee eligibility everywhere. Check the plan during signup for your region, since online terms and availability can change. Zoho Mail plan details

The plan covers email hosting, not the cost of acquiring a domain. You can use a domain you already own from any registrar. Zoho also has a domain-purchase option, but its help page says that option is available only to users in the US and IN data centers; it does not say domain registration is free. What Chosenly’s domain and support address do—and do not—show

Chosenly’s Terms of Service, effective April 3, 2023, identify Chosenly LLC as the operator of chosenly.com and describe Chosenly as a B2B SaaS platform. The terms list [email protected] as a contact. That establishes that Chosenly uses an address on its own company domain; it does not establish that Chosenly offers email hosting, lets others create chosenly.com mailboxes, or has a free email plan. The cited page does not resolve whether Chosenly offers any email product elsewhere. Chosenly Terms of Service

What you need to set up a Zoho mailbox on a domain you own

Custom-domain hosting requires control of the domain’s DNS settings. Zoho’s administrator guide describes proving ownership with a CNAME or TXT record and directing MX records to Zoho so incoming mail is delivered there. If you cannot change DNS records for the domain, you cannot complete the documented setup. Zoho domain email setup

  1. Have a domain and DNS access. Use a domain you already own, whether bought from Zoho or another registrar.
  2. Verify domain ownership. In Zoho’s setup process, add the requested CNAME or TXT record through your domain’s DNS manager.
  3. Configure mail delivery. Update the domain’s MX records as Zoho directs so the domain’s mail is routed to Zoho.
  4. Confirm plan eligibility. Check whether the free custom-email plan is available in your data center and verify its current limits during signup.
