It said it is “looking into” future changes to both in-game content and how it communicates. It did not say what will change or when.
What Playground Games actually said
The statement came from the studio’s official account (@WeArePlayground). Contemporaneous coverage from Traxion and Dot Esports reproduces it, and none of the reports name an individual author. The wording, as reproduced by Traxion:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
“We’re reading all your comments about Forza Horizon 6, and we realise that we haven’t been talking with you as much as we could be. While we continue to deliver regular content and fixes into the game, we want you to know we hear your feedback about our post-launch updates and we’re looking into future changes to both in-game content and the ways we communicate with you. Stay tuned!”

There are two separate things here: an acknowledgment and a possible future action. The acknowledgment is clear. The action is not. The post gives no list of changes, no date and no communication schedule. Dot Esports likewise reported that, as of October 6, Playground had not confirmed or committed to any changes. “Stay tuned” is an invitation to wait, not a promise.

What players are criticizing
Reports describe the following complaints. They come from players who spoke up and are not a measured consensus.
- Limited communication. Dot Esports reports complaints that the studio has said too little to players after launch.
- Repetitive monthly Playlist updates. The same report says some players find the monthly Festival Playlist updates repetitive.
- Repetitive late-game content. Players described the content available late in the game the same way.
One Reddit poster put it bluntly: “I just want to know why it seems like Playground Games releases the game and does nothing afterwards.” That is one person’s wording. It shows the tone of some criticism but not how many players share it. The studio’s own reply points the other way: it says it continues to deliver regular content and fixes.

The communication change behind the complaints
Traxion places the communication concern in the context of a change in format. The previous game used monthly “Let’s ¡GO!” livestreams and video explainers, while this game’s updates have come through website posts. That is the outlet’s account and not Playground’s explanation. The reports do not show how players rate each format. The practical difference is direct, face-to-face developer interaction versus written release notes.
The update that landed one day earlier
Playground published the official Horizon Meets release notes on October 5, the day before its response. The update included:
Rank #3
- PREMIUM UPGRADE — Includes VIP Membership, Welcome Pack, Time Attack Car Pack, Car Pass, Italian Passion Car Pack, and two Premium Expansions. Requires Forza Horizon 6 base game or Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
- VIP MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS — Enjoy a 2x Credit boost to race rewards, 3 VIP-Exclusive Forza Edition cars, a weekly bonus Super Wheelspin, and special Vanity Items.
- WELCOME PACK — Features 5 special pre-tuned cars and a Car Voucher, which can be used to claim any car available from the Autoshow.
- TIME ATTACK CAR PACK — Receive 8 legendary cars ideal for mastering every turn and corner at the Time Attack Circuits located around Japan.
- ITALIAN PASSION CAR PACK — Introduces 4 great new Italian cars in Forza Horizon 6 post-launch, perfect for cruising, racing, or exploring.
- 7-Eleven content
- Horizon Play levels
- A Treasure Car
- New Festival Playlist rewards
- Fixes the studio says are based on feedback and reports sent to the Forza Feedback Portal
The notes tell players with unresolved issues to use that portal. The timing is useful context, but nothing published shows that Horizon Meets was built as an answer to the criticism, and the October 6 post does not promise a content overhaul.
The monthly cadence Playground set at launch
In its May 22, 2026 community post, Playground said Forza Horizon 6 was available worldwide on Xbox Series X|S and PC, and that future series updates would arrive monthly. That is the studio’s stated plan at the time of launch. It doesn’t tell us whether every update has arrived on schedule, and the criticism appears to be about the content of those updates and the silence around them, more than about their existence.

- DELUXE EDITION — Includes the full game, Welcome Pack, and Car Pass, delivering 30 additional cars to your garage with one new car released each week.
- DISCOVER JAPAN — Explore Horizon’s largest map ever, set in Japan and packed with dramatic verticality, diverse biomes, and spectacular open‑road driving routes.
- CRUISE ICONIC LOCATIONS — Drive through Tokyo’s city streets, suburbs, docks, and industrial districts in the most expansive urban environment in Horizon history.

How big is the backlash?
Nobody has measured it. The reviewed coverage cites no satisfaction figure, no survey and no player-count data. Social posts and forum threads show that some players are vocal, but they can’t stand in for the whole player base. “The community is fed up” is a fair headline shorthand for visible criticism, not a finding that most players are unhappy.
What to watch next
- Whether Playground names specific changes to post-launch content, or a date for them.
- Whether it brings back a regular, direct format such as video or livestream updates, or keeps to written posts.
- What the next monthly update contains compared with Horizon Meets.
If you have a bug or problem that remains unfixed, the studio’s stated route is the Forza Feedback Portal, which its release notes point players toward.
