Forza Horizon 6 is confirmed for PS5, but the official US PlayStation Store listing currently says “Release date to be determined.” It offers a wishlist option, not a PS5 preorder or purchase. The official sources checked do not confirm a PS5 price, editions, or physical disc. Before paying, make sure a listing is for the PS5 version and verify its format, seller, and edition details.
Is Forza Horizon 6 available on PS5?
Playground Games announced on January 22, 2026 that Forza Horizon 6 would come to PS5 later in 2026. Its separate Xbox Series X|S and PC launch was set for May 19, 2026, with Premium Edition early access starting May 15. Those Xbox and PC dates are not a PS5 release date. Playground Games’ announcement directed PS5 players to wishlist the game.

The official US PlayStation Store listing identifies the game as a PS5 title and names Microsoft Corporation as publisher. At the time checked, it was marked “Announced,” showed “Release date to be determined,” and offered “Add to Wishlist.” No PS5 price, preorder, or buy option appeared on that listing. Store information can change, so check the page again before making a purchase decision.
Is there a PS5 disc, or is it digital-only?
The official PS5 listing reviewed does not say whether a physical disc edition will be made. A Store page does not prove that the game is digital-only, and Xbox or PC availability does not prove that a PS5 disc exists. Do not rely on retailer placeholders, rumors, or the franchise’s earlier releases as confirmation.

For a disc purchase, wait for a real PS5 product listing that explicitly identifies the platform and physical format. For a digital purchase, use the PlayStation Store listing for your region and check that the product is the PS5 version.
Sony’s general disc-production policy does not settle the question for this game. In a July 1, 2026 PlayStation Blog post, Sony said physical disc production for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles would be discontinued starting January 2028. Sony also said the policy would not affect games that had already released, or would release before January 2028, in disc format. That general policy does not announce whether Forza Horizon 6 will have a disc edition.
Are Xbox editions and prices valid for PS5?
No. The Xbox product page lists Standard, Deluxe, Premium, and Premium Upgrade options. Its descriptions say Deluxe includes the game, Car Pass, and Welcome Pack; Premium includes the game, two future Premium Expansions, Italian Passion and Time Attack Car Packs, Car Pass, VIP Membership, and Welcome Pack. These are Xbox product details, not confirmed PS5 editions or contents. The PS5 Store listing checked does not show a PS5 edition lineup or prices.

That figure is the publisher’s product-page description, not an independently verified count. Neither the setting nor the advertised car count tells you what a particular PS5 edition includes.

What to verify before buying a PS5 copy
- Platform: Confirm that the product page or box identifies PS5. An Xbox or PC listing is a different product, even if the title and edition name look similar.
- Format: For a physical copy, check that the retailer lists an actual PS5 disc SKU. For digital, check the regional PlayStation Store listing. Do not infer format from a placeholder page.
- Release and delivery timing: Check the PS5 release date when announced. For a disc, confirm the retailer’s delivery or collection date; for digital, check any stated availability time.
- Edition contents: Compare the PS5-specific inclusions, such as passes, expansions, or bonuses, against the base edition. Do not assume Xbox edition contents carry over to PS5.
- Total cost and seller: Compare the PS Store price with an authorized retailer in your territory, including shipping or applicable taxes where shown. Verify that the seller’s listing matches the PS5 product you intend to buy.
- Access terms: Read the PS5 listing’s requirements and terms once published. The current US Store page notes in-game purchases and says online console multiplayer requires a separately sold PlayStation Plus subscription.
When comparing two confirmed PS5 offers, keep format separate from edition content: a disc is a physical copy, while an edition describes the included game content or extras. A higher edition tier does not by itself tell you whether the copy is physical or digital.
