As of October 7, 2026, the UK PlayStation Store listing says “Release date to be determined.” Check that listing for an updated date; the Xbox and PC launch date should not be treated as the PS5 date.

What are the PS5 file size and free-space requirements?
No official PS5 download size or required free-space figure is published in the official sources reviewed. That means there is no confirmed number to use for planning an installation. Do not treat a PC or Xbox size, if listed elsewhere, as the PS5 install size: platform versions can differ, and no PS5 figure is established by the sources cited here.

Does Forza Horizon 6 have PS5 system requirements?
The official Store listing and Forza game page identify PS5 as the platform but do not provide a PS5-specific minimum or recommended requirements list. They also do not state a minimum firmware version, a console-storage capacity requirement or different requirements for PS5 models. PC requirements do not answer what the PS5 version needs.

Do you need an SSD to play Forza Horizon 6 on PS5?
There is no official information indicating that Forza Horizon 6 requires an added SSD. A compatible M.2 NVMe SSD is an optional way to expand a PS5’s game storage, not a game-specific requirement. PlayStation supports storing PS5 games on USB extended storage too, but its storage guide says a PS5 game must be moved back to console storage or M.2 SSD storage before it can be played. An installed compatible M.2 SSD can serve as additional storage for playing PS5 games.

If you want additional play-ready storage, check PlayStation’s M.2 SSD compatibility guide before buying a drive. Its platform-level criteria specify a PCIe Gen4x4 M.2 NVMe drive with a capacity from 250 GB to 8 TB, one of the supported form factors (2230, 2242, 2260, 2280 or 22110), and a cooling structure such as a heatsink or heat-transfer sheet. PlayStation recommends sequential read speed of at least 5,500 MB/s. These are PS5 storage compatibility guidelines, not requirements for Forza Horizon 6.

Use USB extended storage for storage, not direct PS5 play
A USB extended-storage drive can hold PS5 game data, but the game must be moved to console storage or an M.2 SSD before play. If you choose USB storage to make room, allow time for that transfer when you want to launch the game.

What to check before installing
- Recheck the PlayStation Store listing for the PS5 release date and any published size or free-space figure.
- Keep enough available space for the confirmed download and installation requirements once they are listed; no official figure is available yet.
- If considering an M.2 drive, verify its specifications against PlayStation’s current compatibility guide rather than assuming any NVMe SSD will work.
- If the game is on USB extended storage, move it to console storage or an M.2 SSD before playing.
