In Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, an Extraction Accelerator silently starts a nearby Extraction Site and instantly summons its Extraction Crate. It is a seasonal Extraction Gizmo—not a permanent upgrade—and Epic’s listed ways to earn Gizmos are Bonus Goals quests, Sprite Dust trades, and Sprite Mastery progression.
What the Extraction Accelerator does
Epic describes the Extraction Accelerator as a Gizmo that “silently initiate[s] a nearby Extraction Site, summoning the Extraction Crate instantly.” In practical terms, it speeds up starting an extraction while reducing the sound it makes. Epic does not publish a duration or measured sound level for the effect. Epic’s v42.00 Override update notes provide the item description.

Extraction Gizmos are consumables for speeding up or enhancing Sprite extraction. Override introduced them alongside systems including Sprite Garden and Sprite Dust. Epic’s Override announcement gives the season context.
How to get more Extraction Gizmos
Epic lists three general ways to earn Extraction Gizmos:
#1 Best Overall
- Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
- Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
- Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms
- Redemption: Online
- Complete Bonus Goals quests.
- Trade in Sprite Dust.
- Progress through Sprite Mastery.
Epic’s support page does not identify a specific Accelerator quest or state how many quests are required. A third-party guide claims that completing three Override Daily Quests awards one, but Epic’s reviewed support article and update notes do not confirm that exact requirement. Check the current Quests tab and follow the in-game instructions rather than relying on a fixed quest count or control combination.
To use a Gizmo, access it through the pickaxe slot. Follow the prompts shown in your match for the current controls and nearby Extraction Site. Epic’s support article explains Gizmo access and earning methods: What are Extraction Gizmos in Fortnite?

What happens to Gizmos when you are eliminated or the season ends?
Gizmos cannot be traded or dropped when you are eliminated. Your Gizmo inventory persists for the season, then expires when the season ends; it is not a permanent account item. Epic says to check the timer on the Battle Royale mode-selection screen or in the in-match Gizmo Wheel for the live expiration time.

Because Gizmos expire at season end, verify the live in-game timer before relying on that date. Epic’s Override Battle Pass page lists the date.
Rank #3
- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
Do you need the Battle Pass to get an Accelerator?
Epic’s listed Gizmo earning routes are gameplay-based; the support page does not say that an Accelerator requires the Battle Pass or Fortnite Crew. The Battle Pass is a separate optional purchase: Epic lists access through Fortnite Crew or a purchase for 800 V-Bucks. Those purchase routes are not presented as ways to obtain an Extraction Accelerator.
