If Comodo Firewall used to install on your PC but will not install now, first check that the installer supports your Windows version and confirm whether you downloaded the firewall-only product or the full Comodo Internet Security suite. Check the installer and your Windows version first
Comodo’s published compatibility information is tied to specific products and releases, so an older product page cannot confirm that an unspecified installer supports your current Windows version. Comodo’s Firewall page lists Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10. Separately, its 2019 installation guide says CIS version 12.0.0.6882 and later does not support XP or Vista. These statements do not establish support for Windows 11 or the requirements of a newer installer. Check the system requirements for the exact installer you downloaded before troubleshooting further.

Comodo’s installation guidance says to review both the instructions and system requirements. Confirm the product name and version shown on the installer, your Windows edition and version, and whether the installer specifies a 32-bit or 64-bit architecture requirement.
Know which Comodo product you are installing
Firewall-only and the full Internet Security suite are not interchangeable for conflict checks. Comodo’s installation guidance distinguishes them:

- Firewall-only: Comodo says you do not need to remove third-party antivirus software to install only the firewall.
- Full Internet Security suite: If present, Comodo says to remove both third-party firewall and antivirus products before installing the suite. Follow the relevant product vendors’ uninstall instructions.
This guidance identifies a preparation step, not proof that another security product is causing your particular failure. Do not remove software unrelated to the product type you are installing.
Use the error to narrow down what failed
Note whether the installer does not open at all, starts and then stops, or displays an error. Keep the exact wording rather than relying on a broad description such as “it failed.” Also record the Comodo product and installer version, your Windows version and build, and any recent changes you know about. Comodo’s forum has a thread titled “The installer won’t open,” but it does not establish a general root cause or a repeatable fix for other PCs.

Don’t treat disabling Windows security as a universal fix
Anecdotal reports about turning off Windows Defender or Windows Firewall do not establish that either feature is responsible for a Comodo installer failure. Do not disable Windows protections as a routine first step. Check the exact installer’s requirements and the product-specific conflict guidance above; if an error points to a particular blocker, use Comodo’s official instructions or support to decide what to change.

Contact Comodo if the basic checks do not resolve it
Use the route that matches your product. Comodo’s support page lists guides and forums for free products, a support-ticket route, and a consumer security support phone number for paid products. When you contact support, include the exact error text, Windows version and build, Comodo product and installer version, and whether the installer opens. That information helps distinguish a compatibility issue from a product conflict or a different failure.
