If a Browshot screenshot job appears stuck, query its screenshot ID with /api/v1/screenshot/info and check whether it is still in_queue or processing. Add details=1 to inspect available error and final-URL information, then compare other jobs and check Browshot’s status page. Browshot documents no universal processing timeout or manual reset for an individual job, so the status and returned details—not the label alone—are the evidence to work from.
Check the screenshot ID and current state
Use the ID returned by /api/v1/screenshot/create to request the job’s current information:

GET https://us2.browshot.com/api/v1/screenshot/info?id=SCREENSHOT_ID&details=1Authenticate the request as required by your Browshot account and API setup. The exact response includes fields such as the job status and, when available, timestamps. Browshot documents four states:
in_queue: the job is waiting in the queue.processing: the job is underway but has not reached a terminal state.finished: the screenshot job has completed.error: the job ended with an error.
Browshot’s documented workflow is to check the info endpoint until the job reaches finished or error. The documentation does not define a universal maximum processing time, so a job’s elapsed time alone does not establish that it has failed.

Inspect diagnostic details before changing anything
Set details=1 on the info request. Browshot documents that this can include an error description and final URL information (final_url or final_urls) where available. Compare the final URL with the URL you submitted: a redirect may mean the browser reached a different address than expected. Inspect response-code and timing fields if they appear in your response, but do not infer a cause if Browshot has not returned an explanation.
Keep the screenshot ID, request time, requested URL, returned status, and detail response together. That makes it easier to tell a delayed job from a terminal error or a redirect-related issue.

Determine whether the problem is isolated
Review recent requests by status
Use /api/v1/screenshot/list to inspect recent screenshot requests and filter by status. Browshot documents a maximum of 100 results for this view. If multiple recent jobs are also waiting or processing, record their IDs and states; this may help establish the scope of the issue, but does not by itself prove a service incident.
Search for requests using the same URL
Use /api/v1/screenshot/search to find requests matching a URL. The documented result limit is 100. Compare the affected job with other requests for that address: if only one is still processing, the issue may be limited to that request; if several are affected, include that pattern in your investigation. Neither result is a diagnosis on its own.

Review request settings that can affect what you observe
Check the parameters on the original create request. They can affect waiting, capture timing, or whether a prior image is reused, but they do not establish why a particular job remains in processing.
delaysets how long Browshot waits after the page loads before capture. The documentation gives a default of 5 seconds, but describes ranges that vary across documentation hosts or versions. Check the documentation for the API host you use rather than assuming one range applies everywhere.max_waitcontrols waiting for the PageLoad event. Browshot documents a default of0(disabled) and a maximum of 60 seconds.cachecan reuse a screenshot for the same URL and instance. The documented default interval is 24 hours; setcache=0when you need a fresh request rather than a cached result.
These settings can make a result seem delayed or stale. Compare them with the original request before submitting another job, and avoid treating a changed parameter as a guaranteed fix for an unexplained processing state.

Check Browshot service availability
Browshot’s API documentation points users to its extended status page for availability updates. Check it for a relevant incident, but do not conclude that the service is impaired—or healthy for your individual request—from a single job’s state. The status page’s monitoring descriptions do not diagnose a particular screenshot.

This is a practical escalation checklist, not a documented required support procedure. The API documentation does not describe a manual reset for an individual stuck job.
Use hooks for future jobs, with polling as a fallback
Browshot can send a POST to a supplied hook URL when a screenshot reaches finished or error. The callback body is described as the screenshot/info JSON. Browshot documents up to two retries if callback delivery is slow or does not return a 20X response. Keep an info-endpoint check available in your application: a callback can fail to reach your system, so polling provides another way to see the job’s status.
