Fisher & Paykel’s 2 October 2018 specification sheet gives this exact model 442L gross total capacity: 307L for the refrigerator and 135L for the freezer. These are gross figures; do not treat them as net usable capacity.

The listed layout includes four adjustable glass shelves, two humidity-controlled crisper bins, covered and full-width door shelves, and three clear freezer bins. The freezer also has two ice trays. Whether that arrangement suits your household depends on the size and shape of the items you store; the published capacities alone do not describe usable shelf space.

Dimensions and installation clearance
According to the 2018 exact-model specification sheet, the cabinet is 1715 mm high, 680 mm wide and 695 mm deep without the handle; depth with the handle is 730 mm. With the door open to 90 degrees, the listed depth is 1318 mm. Allow space for the actual door swing and access to drawers and shelves, not just the cabinet footprint.

The same sheet specifies minimum clearances of 20 mm on each side and 50 mm above. Measure the cavity, nearby walls and obstructions, and the route through doorways or hallways before arranging delivery. Confirm the installation requirements against the documentation supplied with the particular unit, especially if it is used or old stock.
Energy use and listed features
The 2018 Fisher & Paykel sheet lists a three-star energy rating and 428 kWh/year for the E442BRWFD5. CHOICE repeats those figures as claimed energy use on its listing, which identifies 2016 as the test year. Annual electricity cost depends on your tariff and actual use, so 428 kWh/year should not be converted into a bill without those assumptions.
Listed features include frost-free operation, adaptive defrost, an inverter-controlled compressor, humidity control, fast freeze, bottle chill, Sabbath mode, SmartTouch controls, LED lighting and a door alarm. Fisher & Paykel describes ActiveSmart Foodcare as adjusting temperature, airflow and humidity based on how the fridge is used. That is the manufacturer’s description, not independent evidence that food lasts longer or that temperatures remain more stable.
