Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFor a quick full-page screenshot, Firefox is the simpler built-in choice: open the page’s context menu, select Take Screenshot, then Save full page. Chrome can also capture the entire page through DevTools Device Mode. The documented difference is workflow and controls—not proven image quality. Neither browser has been shown here to be more faithful or reliable on every site.
How to take a full-page screenshot in Firefox
Use Firefox’s screenshot interface
- Right-click an empty area of the page, or Control-click on macOS, and choose Take Screenshot. You can also use Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS.
- Choose Save full page. The interface also lets you capture the visible area, select a region, or select a page element.
- Save the image or copy it using the options shown in the screenshot interface.
Mozilla documents this workflow in its Firefox screenshot instructions.

Use Firefox DevTools for more control
If DevTools is already part of your work, open its settings and enable Take a screenshot of the entire page under Available Toolbox Buttons. Then use the screenshot button.

Mozilla documents options including --fullpage, --delay, --dpr, --filename, --clipboard, --file, and --selector. A delay can give a page state time to appear; a selector targets an element; and --dpr changes the device-pixel ratio used for the capture. Consult Mozilla’s screenshot documentation for the syntax and current details. Reusing a filename can overwrite an earlier capture, so choose distinct names if you need to keep multiple images.

How to capture a full-size screenshot in Chrome
- Open Chrome DevTools and switch to Device Mode.
- Open the Device Mode More options menu and select Capture a full size screenshot.
Google says this captures the whole page, including content beyond the visible viewport. Device Mode also provides viewport and device-dimension controls, which makes it useful when you need to capture under a particular simulated viewport. See Chrome for Developers’ Device Mode instructions; menu labels can vary with the installed Chrome version.
Chrome DevTools also has area-capture commands, but that is a different task from capturing the whole page. Google notes that area capture does not work when DevTools is undocked; see its Command Menu documentation.

Firefox vs. Chrome: choose by the job
| What you need | Practical choice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Quick, one-off full-page capture | Firefox | Its regular screenshot interface includes Save full page, without taking the DevTools Device Mode route. |
| Capture while working in DevTools or simulating a device viewport | Chrome | Device Mode includes Capture a full size screenshot and device-dimension controls. |
| A delay, clipboard output, DPR adjustment, named file, or selector capture | Firefox DevTools | These controls are documented for Firefox’s :screenshot helper. They do not establish better image quality. |
| Determine which browser renders a particular page more faithfully | Test the page in both | The official instructions do not provide a controlled head-to-head fidelity or reliability comparison. |
These are workflow distinctions, not a general image-quality ranking. The documentation cited here does not establish that either browser always handles lazy-loaded content, animations, sticky elements, cross-origin content, or exceptionally long pages correctly. If fidelity matters, capture the actual page and inspect the resulting image.

ScreenshotNeo is a screenshot API and MCP server for developers. One GET request can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. For a WebP capture, the cURL example is:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
Replace the example URL with the page you want to capture. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for setup and options. Its capture flow accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify the page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server offers take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for AI agents and MCP clients. The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.
