The Finalmouse Centerpiece is a screen-first 65% gaming keyboard: its defining display sits beneath transparent keycaps, so animated visuals appear to fill the keyboard rather than on a small panel mounted above the keys. It was announced in 2022, but production delays, limited first-wave shipping and uncertain current availability make it a difficult product to buy at its reported $349 retail price.
What makes the Centerpiece different
Most “screen keyboards” place a small display in the case, wrist-rest area or a few dedicated keys. Finalmouse’s approach puts a display under the typing area itself. Clear polycarbonate keycaps let the under-key visuals show through while the board remains a 65% layout, according to Notebookcheck’s December 2025 report.
The screen is the product’s main attraction, not an auxiliary status panel. That distinction matters if you want a keyboard designed around visual scenes and effects rather than a conventional board with a tiny configuration screen.
Reported specifications and gaming features

Custom switches and keycaps are a major limitation
The Centerpiece is not built around a standard hot-swap Hall effect ecosystem. Notebookcheck says Finalmouse uses a custom keycap and switch construction, including an integrated spring, and that common replacement switches such as Gateron Magnetic Jade Pros cannot be used.

That limits normal enthusiast upgrades. You should not buy the keyboard expecting to tune it with widely available magnetic switches or to keep a large supply of ordinary replacement parts. Before purchasing, confirm how Finalmouse handles failed switches, damaged keycaps and other service parts; a complete public warranty and support document was not verified.
Delivery history and current availability
Notebookcheck reported that repeated development and production delays preceded the first production wave, which began shipping in December 2025. The keyboard was sold out when that report was published.

The Finalmouse Centerpiece page surfaced as “Centerpiece Early Access,” with a form for receiving an early-access order link, rather than a normal public checkout. A separate August 2026 explainer also described an early-access process and a sold-out official collection. Availability can change, so treat those descriptions as time-sensitive rather than as a promise of an open order window.
- Check Finalmouse’s current Centerpiece page for an active early-access invitation or checkout.
- Confirm whether the offer is for the Founders Edition, a later Centerpiece Pro, or another revision.
- Read the stated delivery window before paying, especially given the earlier delays.
- Save the order terms, cancellation rules and warranty language.
Centerpiece Pro and product naming
Later coverage refers to the keyboard as the Centerpiece Pro. The available reporting does not establish a complete, official comparison between an original Centerpiece and a Pro model, nor does it provide a verified standard-edition production schedule. Do not assume that a listing using “Pro” automatically represents a different screen, switch system or delivery commitment.

Price, resale and buying risk
Notebookcheck reported a $349 retail price. StockX lists $349 as the Founders Edition retail price and gives December 2, 2025 as its release date, while also displaying changing secondary-market offers. The $349 figure is a reported retail reference, not proof of current stock or a stable resale value.
A marketplace listing is not evidence of an official Finalmouse partnership. If you use a secondary-market seller, verify the exact edition, item condition, included accessories, buyer protection, return policy and warranty transferability. Resale asking prices can move independently of Finalmouse’s price.

Who should consider it
It may fit you if
- You specifically want a full-keyboard visual display under transparent caps.
- You value the reported rapid-trigger, adjustable-actuation and high-polling features for compatible games.
- You accept a proprietary switch and keycap ecosystem.
- You can tolerate uncertain supply and potentially long fulfillment.
Look elsewhere if
- You need immediately available stock from a normal retail channel.
- You expect to replace Hall effect switches with standard magnetic models.
- You require a clearly published warranty, support process and parts catalog before purchase.
- You want a low-cost way to add a small information display rather than a screen integrated beneath every key.
How to evaluate a listing before paying
- Identify the edition. Check whether the seller names Centerpiece, Centerpiece Pro or Founders Edition and compare the stated release information.
- Verify what is actually included. Confirm the keyboard, keycaps, cable, accessories and any software access shown in the listing.
- Check compatibility expectations. Assume third-party Hall effect replacements are unsupported unless Finalmouse explicitly states otherwise.
- Review fulfillment terms. Look for a concrete dispatch estimate, cancellation process and what happens if production slips.
- Check support coverage. Confirm the warranty issuer, geographic limits, return window and whether coverage transfers with a resale purchase.
- Compare the total cost. Include taxes, shipping, marketplace fees and the risk of paying above the reported $349 retail reference.
Bottom line
The Finalmouse Centerpiece is best understood as an experimental, display-led 65% gaming keyboard. Its under-key 2K screen and reported Hall effect performance features are unusual, but the custom switch construction, delayed rollout and uncertain early-access availability are equally important parts of the purchase decision. Buy only when the edition, delivery terms, support coverage and total price are explicit.
