What the LEVEL 1 is—and who it is for
The LEVEL 1 is a stereo power amplifier, not a headphone amplifier or a complete speaker system. It is designed to power passive speakers. FiiO lists a Texas Instruments TPA3255 amplifier chip and describes its use of PurePath Ultra-HD technology; those are the manufacturer’s product descriptions, not independent assessments of sound quality. Its appeal is flexibility in a small enclosure: several wired and wireless source options, physical bass and treble knobs, and outputs for speakers, a powered subwoofer or an external power amplifier. FiiO lists dimensions of about 181 × 133 × 36 mm excluding feet and a weight of about 676 g. How much power does it deliver?
The number to pay attention to is not just the headline wattage: the specified load, distortion threshold and power supply all matter. FiiO’s product information says 600 W output requires a supply rated at 600 W or greater, whereas the included adapter is rated at 240 W and provides up to 240 W output power. These are figures in FiiO’s undated specification table, not independently verified measurements. They should not be treated as guaranteed output with the included adapter or as a measure of sound quality. FiiO specifies a DC input range of 24–53 V, says higher input voltage within that range yields higher output power, and recommends using its official adapter. Check speaker compatibility before buying
FiiO lists an adaptive impedance range of 4–8 Ω. Check your speaker’s nominal impedance against that range and consider the supply and conditions attached to the output figures rather than choosing on wattage alone. FiiO’s main product page also lists AAC for Bluetooth, while its parameter page lists SBC and LDAC. Since the official pages differ, treat codec support as something to verify for the exact product and firmware rather than assuming every listed codec is consistently documented. Controls, app features and setup
The front panel has separate bass and treble knobs, each specified from −10 to +10 levels, and a knob/button for volume and input selection. FiiO Control offers PEQ and preset switching for Bluetooth, coaxial and USB digital inputs; FiiO explicitly limits those app adjustments to digital inputs, so do not expect them to affect RCA line-in. FiiO’s input setup instructions give this basic sequence:
- Briefly press the volume knob to select the relevant input mode.
- Connect the source using the matching cable or Bluetooth connection.
- Start playback on the source device.
- Connect the desired output, such as passive speakers or a powered subwoofer.
For detailed instructions, FiiO provides an input setup article and a quick-start and downloads page with a Windows USB DAC driver, FiiO Control, firmware and related resources. The LEVEL 1 support center lists troubleshooting help, including what to do if the amplifier behaves abnormally.

What this review can—and cannot—establish
The available product information establishes the feature set and FiiO’s stated power conditions, but not independent bench results, controlled listening comparisons or hands-on performance. There is therefore no sound-quality verdict here. A meaningful independent assessment would need to identify the speaker load, input, power supply, output level and measurement method; comparisons would also need a named amplifier under comparable conditions.
Price and availability vary by region
FiiO’s release announcement directs buyers to its AliExpress Official Store and advises local customers to check with authorized sales agents about arrival and stock. As a dated regional example, the FiiO EU retailer page listed the silver version at €116.65 and in stock when accessed for this article.
