1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFour fiber providers have current official pricing worth comparing with Xfinity: AT&T Fiber, Frontier Fiber, GFiber, and Optimum Fiber. Their advertised entry prices range from $30 to $70 per month, but that does not prove any one will be cheaper for your home: availability, billing discounts, taxes, fees, speed tier, and offer terms differ. Current evidence supports four options, not a defensible fifth.
Four fiber providers to compare with Xfinity
These are provider-published prices, not a national cheapest-to-most-expensive ranking. Each company’s service and price depend on the address and plan; compare the offer available at your home with the full recurring cost of your current Xfinity bill.

| Provider | Advertised price and speed | Conditions and context |
|---|---|---|
| AT&T Fiber | Plans from $35 per month | Eligibility, AutoPay, paperless billing, and local availability apply. AT&T’s comparison says its data was current as of April 10, 2026; it lists a fastest plan of 5 GIG and identifies equal upload and download speeds as a fiber feature. Check AT&T Fiber plans and availability. |
| Frontier Fiber | Fiber 500: $44.99 per month; Fiber 1 Gig: $64.99 per month | Advertised prices require Auto Pay and paperless billing and depend on address. Promotional offers and price guarantees have terms; confirm the regular rate, guarantee duration, and one-time charges. Frontier says fiber plans range from 500 Mbps to 7 Gig and describes symmetrical upload and download speeds. Check Frontier Fiber plans. |
| GFiber | 1 Gig: $70 per month; 3 Gig: $100; 8 Gig: $150 | Address availability and taxes or fees may apply. GFiber says Wi-Fi equipment is included in the described plans, it does not use promotional pricing, and there is no annual contract or early termination fee. The company says its 1 Gig price has remained $70 since its 2012 launch. Check GFiber plans and availability. |
| Optimum Fiber | 300 Mbps: $30 per month for 60 months | The offer requires eligible Auto Pay and paperless billing; taxes and fees are additional. Optimum’s rate card effective July 1, 2026 lists standard rates from $55 for 200 Mbps to $300 for 8 Gig, while its promotional offers show different prices and price-lock terms. Confirm the applicable rate and terms for your address. Check Optimum Fiber offers. |
Is Xfinity fiber internet?
Xfinity describes its service as “powered by fiber” and “connected to premises by coaxial cable.” In other words, fiber may carry data through part of its network, while coaxial cable connects the service to the premises. That differs from fiber reaching the home. Check the connection type actually offered at your address rather than assuming every Xfinity plan—or every alternative—is fiber to the home. See Xfinity’s description of its network.
How to tell whether a fiber plan will actually cost less
- Check address availability. Enter your service address on each provider’s website. A plan’s advertised rate is not evidence that the provider serves your home; confirm the installation connection type, too.
- Compare the full recurring bill. Record the price after required AutoPay or paperless-billing discounts, plus taxes and fees. For promotional prices or guarantees, find out when they end and what the standard rate will be.
- Match speeds, including uploads. Compare the same kind of plan where possible. Upload speed matters for video calls, remote work, cloud backups, and sending large files—not just download speed.
- Include equipment and installation. Check whether a Wi-Fi router is included, whether rental charges apply, and whether installation has a fee.
- Read the commitment and exit terms. Compare contract length, cancellation fees, and the duration and scope of any price guarantee.
- Use your actual Xfinity bill as the baseline. Compare the total you pay now with the full price of the available alternative at your address, rather than with a generic starting price.
Why the lowest advertised rate may not be the cheapest choice
The headline figures are not directly interchangeable: the offers cover different speeds and billing conditions, and the prices do not all have the same duration or fee treatment. Optimum’s cited $30 offer is for 300 Mbps and lasts 60 months under eligible billing conditions; its standard rate card lists different prices. Frontier’s cited rates require Auto Pay and paperless billing. GFiber describes flat pricing and included Wi-Fi equipment, while AT&T’s starting rate depends on eligibility and billing terms.

- ⚠️ CABLE INTERNET ONLY - NOT COMPATIBLE WITH: Fiber (Verizon FiOS, AT&T), DSL, Satellite, or Fixed Wireless. ONLY works with cable providers like Xfinity, Spectrum, Cox. Verify your internet type BEFORE purchase.
- 🚫 NO WiFi INCLUDED - ROUTER REQUIRED: This is a modem ONLY. You MUST buy a separate WiFi router to get wireless internet. Without a router, only ONE device can connect via Ethernet cable. This does NOT replace your current WiFi router.
- 🔌 CABLE INTERNET REQUIRED: Works EXCLUSIVELY with cable internet service (DOCSIS) from providers like Xfinity, Spectrum, or Cox. Will NOT work with fiber (Verizon FiOS, AT&T), DSL, satellite, or fixed wireless internet. Contact your ISP to confirm compatibility BEFORE purchasing.
- 🚀 MULTI-GIG PERFORMANCE: Supports internet plans up to 2.5 Gbps with 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port. Designed for plans 1 Gbps and faster from certified providers: Xfinity (up to 2.33 Gbps), Spectrum (1 Gbps), Cox (2 Gbps). Verify your plan speed and provider compatibility.
- 💡 SETUP REQUIREMENTS: You need: (1) Cable internet service, (2) Separate WiFi router with 2.5 Gbps port for full speeds, (3) ISP activation. This modem cannot create WiFi networks or connect multiple devices without additional equipment.
These are provider-published prices, not independent market comparisons or a prediction of your final bill. The right comparison is the plan actually available at your address, at the speed you need, against your current Xfinity charges.
