Loop both the visual and audio deliberately, test the exact command with your files, then verify the preview and stream health in YouTube Live Control Room before broadcasting.
Recommended FFmpeg settings for 1080p Hindi music
A static artwork loop generally does not benefit from 60 fps. Begin with this YouTube-aligned setup, then adjust only if your visual has meaningful motion or your connection cannot sustain the bitrate.

| Setting | Starting point | Adjustment or reason |
|---|---|---|
| Resolution and frame rate | 1920×1080 progressive, 30 fps | Suitable for static or slowly changing artwork. Use 60 fps only when smoother motion matters and your encoder and connection can sustain it. YouTube encoder settings. |
| Video codec | H.264 with libx264 |
YouTube supports H.264 over RTMP/RTMPS. Your FFmpeg build must include libx264 for this encoder to work. FFmpeg codec documentation. |
| Video rate control | CBR, 10 Mb/s | YouTube recommends CBR and lists 10 Mb/s for 1080p30 H.264. |
| Keyframes | Every 2 seconds; GOP 60 at 30 fps | YouTube recommends a two-second interval and says not to exceed four seconds. |
| Audio | AAC stereo, 128 kb/s, 44.1 kHz | Matches YouTube’s recommended stereo bitrate and sample rate. |
| Ingest and output | RTMPS, FLV | Use the stream URL and key shown in Live Control Room. YouTube recommends RTMPS. |
| SDR color | Rec. 709, 8-bit | YouTube’s recommended advanced SDR settings. |
YouTube’s H.264 guidance lists 5 Mb/s as the minimum and 14 Mb/s as the recommended table value for 1080p30; its stated recommended value is 10 Mb/s. For 1080p60, the table lists 6 Mb/s minimum and 17 Mb/s recommended, with 12 Mb/s also identified as a recommended value. For static artwork, 30 fps is usually the more sensible starting point. Use 60 fps and a higher bitrate when the image has motion that benefits from it and your upload connection can sustain it.

These figures describe the incoming encoder stream; YouTube transcodes live streams for viewers. Keep upload capacity comfortably above video bitrate plus audio and protocol overhead. Test the connection and choose a quality it can sustain. If it cannot reliably sustain the recommended bitrate, lower the bitrate while remaining above the published minimum where possible, or reduce resolution or frame rate.

Example: loop an image and audio file
This illustrative command loops one still image and one audio file, encodes 1920×1080 H.264/AAC, and sends an FLV stream to an RTMPS endpoint. Replace the endpoint and key placeholders with the values from YouTube Live Control Room. It has not been executed or tested here; your FFmpeg build, file formats, input durations, and channel configuration may require changes.
ffmpeg
-re -loop 1 -framerate 30 -i artwork.jpg
-stream_loop -1 -i music.mp3
-map 0:v:0 -map 1:a:0
-vf "scale=1920:1080,format=yuv420p"
-c:v libx264 -preset veryfast -tune stillimage
-r 30 -g 60 -keyint_min 60

-c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 44100 -ac 2
-f flv "rtmps://YOUR_INGEST_URL/YOUR_STREAM_KEY"
Here, -re paces file-based input at real-time speed; -loop 1 repeats the still image; and -stream_loop -1 repeats the audio file. At 30 fps, a GOP of 60 frames gives a two-second keyframe interval. FFmpeg documents real-time input pacing and loop options in its command-line documentation; YouTube recommends two-second keyframes.

The image loop matters: a finite still-image input alone should not be expected to keep the whole command running indefinitely. Keep a loopable video source active, as in the example, and test the exact command using your installed FFmpeg and actual files before scheduling a long broadcast.

For 60 fps, set the frame rate to 60 and use a GOP of 120 frames to retain a two-second interval. Choose a bitrate suitable for YouTube’s 1080p60 H.264 guidance, and use 60 fps only if the visual motion and available encoding and upload capacity justify it.

Prepare, test, and monitor the broadcast
- Get the ingest details: In YouTube Live Control Room, create or select the stream and copy its stream URL and stream key into the FFmpeg command. Keep the key private; anyone with it may be able to send a stream to your channel. See YouTube’s live encoder setup guidance.
- Check your FFmpeg build and media: Confirm that the build supports
libx264and AAC encoding. Verify the input image and audio files, including their dimensions and channel configuration, and make sure they repeat as intended. Thelibx264wrapper is available only when enabled in the build. - Run a representative test: Test before the event with the actual or representative audio and video. YouTube says, “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.” Review messages and stream health rather than assuming a successful FFmpeg start means a healthy broadcast.
- Check the preview and monitor live: In Live Control Room, verify framing, continuous audio, and loop behavior in the preview. During the broadcast, keep an eye on audio and video quality and stream health. YouTube advises: “Continuously monitor streams for audio and video quality.”
Confirm the music is cleared for streaming
Technical settings do not grant permission to broadcast music. Before going live, verify that you have the rights needed to stream the selected Hindi music and, if you plan to keep the broadcast as an archive, to make that recording available. Rights and permitted uses depend on the specific track and permissions you hold; the encoding guidance cannot establish whether a particular recording is cleared.
