For finding and installing desktop apps, try KDE Discover; for a graphical interface to DNF-managed RPM packages, consider dnfdragora; and for managing installed Flatpaks, use Warehouse. The right choice depends on what you mean by “software manager”—and none can be called faster for everyone without a current, controlled comparison.
First, decide what you want a software manager to do
Fedora’s graphical software tools can serve different purposes. An app-store interface helps you discover and install desktop applications. A DNF frontend manages RPM packages from configured repositories. A Flatpak utility focuses on Flatpak applications and their data. These categories overlap only partly, so replacing one tool with another may change what you can browse or manage.

Fedora’s community-maintained FAQ describes DNF as accessing repositories to download and install software packages. A graphical app catalog may not show every package available through DNF.
Which Fedora alternative fits your task?
| Tool | Best fit | Scope | What to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|---|
| KDE Discover | Finding and installing desktop apps | Graphical application discovery and installation | Check how it fits your desktop environment and Fedora release. |
| dnfdragora | Managing RPM packages in a graphical interface | Frontend for DNF | Check package availability for your Fedora release; it is not an app-store substitute for Flatpak management. |
| Warehouse | Managing installed Flatpaks | Flatpak information, user data, and batch management | It is a Flatpak toolbox, not a universal software center. |
KDE Discover: for browsing and installing applications
KDE describes Discover as a tool for finding and installing applications, games, and tools. That makes it the most natural option here if your main goal is a graphical app-store workflow rather than comprehensive RPM administration. See the KDE Discover project for its own description.

A participant in a Fedora Discussion about Workstation 41 said Discover felt more usable and faster than GNOME Software, while also mentioning possible dependency and theming issues. That is one person’s experience in a discussion about an older Fedora release, not a current compatibility guarantee or a controlled speed test. Your desktop environment, theme, Fedora version, and configuration can affect how well it fits.
dnfdragora: for graphical DNF and RPM package management
dnfdragora is a DNF package-manager frontend based on rpmdragora, according to Fedora Packages. Choose it when you specifically want to browse and manage RPM packages through a DNF-oriented graphical interface, rather than a storefront centered on desktop apps.

The Fedora Packages listing accessed October 7, 2026, showed builds for Fedora 43, 44, 45, and Rawhide. Package availability changes as Fedora releases move forward, and that listing does not establish support across every Fedora desktop spin. Check the listing for your release before relying on it.

Warehouse: for installed Flatpak applications
Warehouse is designed as a toolbox for viewing Flatpak information, managing user data, and batch-managing installed Flatpaks. Its project description makes it a focused choice when Flatpak maintenance is what you need.
In the Fedora discussion, a participant said Warehouse could install and remove Flatpaks and manage them individually, but was not designed as an app store. That is a community description rather than a guarantee of every current feature. If your workflow also includes RPM packages, use a separate tool for that work.

How to choose without assuming one tool is faster
- You want to discover desktop apps: Start with Discover, then check its fit with your desktop environment and Fedora version.
- You want to manage RPMs graphically: Check whether dnfdragora is available for your Fedora release.
- You want to inspect or maintain installed Flatpaks: Consider Warehouse, understanding its narrower scope.
- You want to update the whole system: Fedora’s FAQ gives
sudo dnf upgradeas the command-line route. It is an update command, not a replacement app catalog.
No controlled comparison in the cited sources establishes that any of these tools is faster than GNOME Software on current Fedora hardware. A Fedora Workstation 41 participant’s speed impression is useful as an individual report, but it cannot predict your result.
