What is the difference between the FC 27 Web App and Companion App?

EA describes the Companion App as the mobile version of the Web App. Both are intended for managing Ultimate Team outside active gameplay, but the official pages do not provide a full feature-parity chart or comparative usability and performance data. It is therefore safest to choose based on where you want to access your club, rather than assuming one platform has a feature the other lacks.
Which Ultimate Team activities can you do?
EA’s Companion App product page documents these club-management activities:
- Transfer Market: acquire and sell players, subject to your account’s market eligibility.
- Squad Building Challenges: complete SBCs.
- Squad preparation: customize tactics and prepare a squad for console gameplay.
- Player development: evolve and customize players.
- Stadium: customize the Stadium, including presentation items.
These are activities EA advertises for the Companion App; they should not be read as proof that each is exclusive to mobile or that every detail is identical in the Web App. EA’s Web App guide describes it as a way to manage Ultimate Team but does not set out a complete side-by-side activity list. How to sign in and confirm your club loads
- Open the Web App in a browser, or install and open the Companion App on an iOS or Android device.
- Sign in with the EA Account associated with FC 27. Using a different EA Account may not show the Ultimate Team club you expect.
- Check that your Ultimate Team Club and Squad load. EA identifies their appearance in the app as confirmation of a successful login. EA Help
Why might the Transfer Market still be unavailable?
Successful app login does not automatically unlock the app’s Transfer Market. EA applies separate eligibility rules that depend on prior access, account standing, and—in some cases—activity in the current game. Its FC 27 guidance says returning players may qualify based on having earned Transfer Market access in FC 26 before August 1, 2026, FC 25 before August 1, 2025, or FC 24 before August 1, 2024. Players who do not qualify through a prior title may need to earn access by playing Ultimate Team in FC 27. These conditions are specific to EA’s FC 27 guidance and can change in later releases. What EA means by an active day
For earning app Transfer Market access, EA defines an active day as playing three full Ultimate Team matches and logging into either the Web App or Companion App within the same UTC calendar day. EA’s examples say an eligible account in good standing with no other Ultimate Team accounts used on the device normally gets access after two active days. If other accounts have been used on that device, EA says access normally takes at least four active days. These are EA’s examples, not a guaranteed unlock schedule for every account. EA Help

What to check if access is blocked
- Look for an in-game notification from EA when access is unlocked, or check market access in either app.
- If access is blocked because of rule violations, the in-game Transfer Market may still be available even when the app market is not.
- An FC 26 Transfer Market ban does not automatically carry over to FC 27, but a franchise ban does carry over. EA Help
Which one should you use?
- Choose the Web App if you want browser access on a computer or another device with a browser.
- Choose the Companion App if you want access from an iOS or Android phone or tablet.
- Use the same EA Account tied to your current FC title, and treat Transfer Market eligibility as a separate check from login.
For FC 27, EA lists September 16, 2026 as the Web App online date and says eligible FC 26 returners in good standing could start using the Transfer Market then. EA’s current guide does not separately confirm a FC 27 Companion App release date, so a date for one should not be inferred from the Web App date. EA Help
