In Notebookcheck’s fall 2026 comparison, the Sony Xperia 1 VIII leads the 19 tested phones at 88.3%, followed closely by the Honor Magic V6 at 88.1% and the Oppo Find X9s Pro at 87%. Those scores describe Notebookcheck’s tested selection—not every phone on sale worldwide—and the small gap between the top two makes feature fit more useful than rank alone.
What the fall 2026 comparison covers
Notebookcheck’s comparison, updated October 4, 2026, brings together 19 phones tested during its review period. Its table includes overall and individual ratings, selected specifications, measurements and benchmark scores. The listed models are a publication-specific sample, not an exhaustive market ranking; scores should be read as Notebookcheck’s review results rather than a universal verdict.

The 19 models are Sony Xperia 1 VIII, Honor Magic V6, Oppo Find X9s Pro, Oppo Find N6, Vivo X300 FE, Motorola Razr Fold, Xiaomi 17T Pro, Xiaomi Poco X8 Pro Max, Motorola Razr 70 Ultra (Razr Ultra 2026), Google Pixel 10a, Xiaomi 17T, Motorola Edge 70 Pro, Honor 600, Samsung Galaxy A57, Motorola Razr 70 Plus, Samsung Galaxy A37 5G, Motorola Razr 70, Gigaset GS6 Pro and Motorola Moto G37. Notebookcheck’s table and the individual reviews are the places to check model-level specifications and test details.
The three highest scores—and what they do and do not mean
| Phone | Notebookcheck overall score | Reported strengths or trade-offs |
|---|---|---|
| Sony Xperia 1 VIII | 88.3% | Notebookcheck describes it as a distinctive, compact-ish flagship with a memory-card slot and 3.5 mm headphone jack; it also notes the high price. |
| Honor Magic V6 | 88.1% | Notebookcheck highlights long runtimes, computing power, IP69 certification and long-term updates, while noting a cooling limitation associated with its slim design. |
| Oppo Find X9s Pro | 87% | Third in the displayed overall-score ranking. |
The percentages are Notebookcheck’s 2026 results in this comparison. The Xperia’s lead over the Magic V6 is just 0.2 percentage points, so the ranking alone is a weak reason to choose between a conventional phone and a foldable. Consider the features and compromises that matter to you, and consult each full review for the underlying measurements.

Choose by the way you use a phone
If you want a conventional flagship with unusual hardware options
Notebookcheck singles out the Xperia 1 VIII for its memory-card slot and headphone jack, features that can matter if you want local expandable storage or wired headphones. The review page also characterizes it as expensive. Its overall score does not establish that it is the best camera phone, best-value phone or right choice for every buyer.
If you want a foldable and prioritize capability
Notebookcheck presents the Honor Magic V6 as a high-performing foldable with a large battery, IP69 certification and a long-term update commitment. It also flags cooling as a compromise linked to the slim design. Foldable ownership involves a different size and handling experience from a standard slab; compare the full review’s measurements and consider both closed and open use before deciding.

Notebookcheck’s editors’ choice awards are separate from the overall-score order: the publication says they recognize models that recently impressed its editors and are not determined simply by review score. Motorola Razr Fold and Google Pixel 10a are among the models it names for those awards.

If emergency connectivity or screen flicker matters
Notebookcheck highlights satellite emergency calls on the Google Pixel 10a as a distinctive capability in its price range, along with USB-C 3.2 and its main camera. The page also cautions that the display exhibits PWM flickering. If you are sensitive to screen flicker, investigate that issue in the full review and, where possible, assess the display in person; the comparison does not establish how every individual will respond.

If the camera is your deciding factor
There is no single camera winner established across these 19 phones by the information presented here. A TechRadar guide frames the choice around the kinds of photos a person prefers; it names the iPhone 18 Pro Max as a likely leading iPhone camera and the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra as its Android camera choice. Those are that guide’s editorial judgments, not an independently verified head-to-head conclusion for Notebookcheck’s 19-phone table. Compare the specific camera tests and photo types in full reviews—such as the subjects and conditions you care about—rather than treating an overall phone score as a camera ranking.
Compare the details that affect daily use
Use the comparison table for its selected specifications, ratings, measurements and benchmark scores, then open the individual review for context. A sensible shortlist should account for:
Rank #4
- YOUR CONTENT, SUPER SMOOTH: The ultra-clear 6.7" FHD+ Super AMOLED display of Galaxy A17 5G helps bring your content to life, whether you're scrolling through recipes or video chatting with loved ones.¹
- LIVE FAST. CHARGE FASTER: Focus more on the moment and less on your battery percentage with Galaxy A17 5G. Super Fast Charging powers up your battery so you can get back to life sooner.²

- Form and handling: standard slab or foldable, plus dimensions and weight. With a foldable, consider both closed and open use and the reported cooling trade-off.
- Battery: look for runtime results and charging details in the individual review, and note the test conditions before comparing figures.
- Display: compare size, panel characteristics and refresh behavior; the Pixel 10a has a specifically reported PWM-flicker caveat.
- Performance and storage: match the processor, memory and storage configuration to your workload rather than assuming the highest overall score is necessary.
- Software and special features: verify the update commitment for the exact model and region, and check whether capabilities such as satellite emergency calling meet your needs and are available where you live.
- Price and local availability: check the exact model, storage version, retailer listing and country. A price shown on a comparison page can change, and the page flags invalid product IDs for some embedded offers.
Why other buying guides may rank phones differently
Rankings depend on what their editors value and which phones they include. Stuff’s contemporaneous guide uses distinct categories—including overall, Android, budget, flagship Android, large-screen, iPhone power-user, camera, foldable and flip-phone picks. Those category awards need not match Notebookcheck’s score order: they answer different buyer questions. Treat any named “best” phone as a recommendation within a stated selection and set of criteria, not as proof that it suits every use case.

Check prices and availability before buying
The comparison page includes retailer listings, but prices, stock, regional variants and product IDs are time-sensitive. Some embedded offers are flagged with invalid product IDs, so confirm that a live listing is for the exact phone and storage configuration you intend to buy. Availability can differ by country; the comparison’s inclusion of a model does not guarantee it is sold in your market.
