What changed after ESPN’s final season?
ESPN held U.S. Formula 1 rights through the 2025 season under the extension announced by Formula 1 in 2022. For 2026, Apple is the exclusive U.S. broadcast partner. Its partnership announcement and March 2026 viewing guide say Apple TV subscribers can watch every practice, qualifying, Sprint session, and Grand Prix.

Apple says F1 TV Premium is included with an Apple TV subscription in the United States. Formula 1’s U.S. F1 TV Premium announcement also describes the service as available through Apple TV. So, for U.S. viewers in 2026, the F1 TV features are part of the Apple TV package rather than a separate paid live-race subscription.

Apple’s guide listed the subscription at $12.99 per month and a seven-day free trial for new subscribers when published in March 2026. Those are a dated price and trial snapshot, not guaranteed current terms; check the price and eligibility at checkout.
Why use F1 TV Premium features?
The main distinction is how you watch. Alongside the regular broadcast, F1 TV describes features designed for following more of the action and data: onboard cameras, live team radio, multiple camera views, and live timing and data overlays. Its general F1 TV product information describes access to all 22 drivers’ onboard cameras, full session replays, highlights, analysis, and pre- and post-race shows.

Which devices work?
Apple lists Apple TV 4K, iPhone, iPad, Apple Vision Pro, Mac, selected smart TVs, Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices, Chromecast with Google TV, PlayStation, Xbox, and the web as U.S. viewing options. Apple TV 4K is not required if you already have another supported device. Check your particular model and app availability before subscribing; the subscription is still required for the full U.S. coverage.
Are any sessions available without Apple TV?
Apple’s March 2026 guide says some practice and qualifying coverage is available on Yahoo Sports and describes planned or announced free access routes for selected sessions or races through Tubi, Univision, and IMAX theaters. Those are partial or event-specific routes, not evidence that every race is free. Check the current schedule and local availability for the particular event before relying on one.

So, which should U.S. F1 viewers choose?
For the complete live 2026 U.S. season, Apple TV is the relevant subscription: it carries all listed sessions and includes F1 TV Premium. ESPN is not a current full-season live alternative under the rights information available for 2026. If you primarily watch on a non-Apple device, Apple’s broad compatibility list means you may not need Apple hardware; confirm your exact device is supported before signing up.
