Choose by platform first: F1 24 is the option for PS4 and Xbox One, while F1 25 is available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. On a supported newer platform, F1 25 is the better fit if you want its newer season, third Braking Point story, or redesigned My Team; F1 24 remains relevant if you already own it, prefer its features, or find it at a meaningfully lower current price.
Platform compatibility: can you play F1 25 on PS4 or Xbox One?
No. EA lists F1 25 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, but not PS4 or Xbox One. F1 24 supports all five of those platform groups. F1 24 launched May 31, 2024; F1 25 followed on May 30, 2025.

What changes in the modes and features?
F1 25: another Braking Point chapter and a team-owner My Team
EA describes Braking Point in F1 25 as the story mode’s third instalment. It spans two seasons, follows different driver perspectives, and includes alternate endings. It is the clearest reason to choose F1 25 if you want to continue the series’ scripted F1 story.

- Complete F1 Experience: Play through the full 2025 season and continue into 2026 with new teams, drivers, cars, and regulations.
- New Teams & Drivers: Audi and Cadillac join the grid alongside updated line-ups featuring Verstappen, Bottas, Pérez, Lawson, Hadjar, and Lindblad.
- New MADRING Circuit: Race in Madrid on a 5.4 km hybrid track with 22 high-speed corners designed for intense Grand Prix action.
- Next-Gen F1 Cars: Drive lighter 2026 cars with advanced aerodynamics and improved physics for a more responsive and immersive racing experience.
F1 25 also revises My Team as “My Team 2.0.” You take the team-owner role, manage operations and both drivers, and can switch between those drivers during race weekends. EA says Konnersport is playable in My Team, and an 11th team can be added in Driver Career. Those changes make F1 25 more explicitly focused on running a team, rather than only racing as its driver.
F1 24: Dynamic Handling and an overhauled Career
EA highlighted Dynamic Handling and an overhauled Career for F1 24. Its Career mode also introduced the option to compete as one of the 20 drivers from the 2024 F1 season. That real-driver choice may matter if you specifically want to step into a 2024 grid identity; it does not establish that F1 24’s handling is objectively better or worse.

Is F1 25 worth upgrading from F1 24?
It depends on what you want from the newer release, and whether you already own F1 24. The strongest documented reasons to upgrade are access to F1 25’s newer-season game, the third Braking Point chapter, and My Team’s team-owner-oriented redesign. If those modes do not interest you and you are content with F1 24, the official feature announcements alone do not establish a compelling upgrade for every player.

- Be The Owner In My Team “2.0” - Get ready to create your own F1 stories in fan-favorite My Team mode, with its largest update since its introduction.
- Experience the Next Thrilling Chapter of Braking Point - The legacy of the Konnersport team is at stake as a dramatic event throws the team into chaos. Can the team fight back and finally put itself in contention for the World Championship? This thrilling chapter introduces new features that let you experience the story your way, including alternative scenarios where you choose which driver to play in key races. Your choices lead to different on-track objectives, and even a different take on the story’s exciting conclusion.
- Take Konnersport’s Legacy Beyond the Braking Point Story - For the first time, you can extend your Konnersport experience through other game modes. Once you’ve finished Braking Point, take the team into Driver Career or My Team. In both modes, Konnersport becomes the eleventh team on the grid; in Driver Career, with you playing as one of its drivers, or in My Team, take over as Team Principal to continue the team’s journey.
- Choose F1 25 if you play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC and want its story or My Team changes, or if the newer game is the one you intend to play.
- Choose or keep F1 24 if you need PS4 or Xbox One support, already own it, or its real-driver Career option better suits you.
- Compare the live platform-store listings if price is decisive. Current prices, discounts, stock, and physical-copy availability are not established here, so there is no reliable general claim that one is cheaper.
Neither the listed features nor release order settle subjective questions such as which game feels better to drive. The official materials cited here do not provide independent comparative testing of handling, AI, graphics, or performance, so choose based on the modes and platform you want rather than treating one as a proven technical winner.
Does F1 25 include the 2026 season?
F1 25 and its 2026 Season Pack are distinct purchase considerations. EA says the 2026 Season Pack is available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, adds 2026 season material—including new rules, cars, teams, and MADRING—and requires the F1 25 base game. Buying or comparing the original annual games is not the same as obtaining that add-on. See EA’s 2026 Season Pack announcement for its current details.
