Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteNo—an external host MCU is optional, not required. Ezurio’s Veda IF912 and IF913 can run an application on their own on-module MCU in SoC (hostless) mode, or operate as wireless coprocessors controlled by an external processor in NCP (hosted) mode. Their main difference is Wi-Fi band support: IF912 is dual-band Wi-Fi 6 for 2.4 and 5 GHz, while IF913 adds 6 GHz with Wi-Fi 6E. Both list Bluetooth LE 5.4.
What “no external host MCU required” means
Each Veda module combines a radio with an application-capable MCU subsystem and memory. In SoC mode, the module’s ARM Cortex-M33 runs the product application, so a separate host MCU is not needed for that role. Ezurio lists the Cortex-M33 at 192 MHz for both families. In NCP mode, the Veda handles wireless connectivity while an external processor runs the main application and communicates with it over a supported interface. These are alternative architectures, not a claim that every design should omit its host.

Ezurio describes both operating modes in its IF912/IF913 family overview and August 27, 2026 announcement. The announcement quotes Ezurio Senior Product Manager Andy Ross saying that the MCU is already on the module and “already talking to the radio”; this is the company’s description of its architecture, not an independent measurement of integration time.

Which family should you choose?
Choose IF912 when 2.4 and 5 GHz are sufficient
IF912 is the Wi-Fi 6 option for designs that need dual-band 2.4/5 GHz connectivity and do not require 6 GHz operation. It offers the same hostless-versus-hosted architectural choice described above.
Choose IF913 when you need 6 GHz
IF913 adds the 6 GHz band and is the Wi-Fi 6E member of the family. That makes it the relevant candidate when a product’s intended network and market require 6 GHz support. The sources do not establish that IF913 is universally faster, lower-power, or better than IF912; do not treat the extra band as a general performance guarantee.

Check memory, interfaces and RF implementation before selecting a part
Confirm the memory SKU
Ezurio lists versions with 8 MB Flash and 8 MB PSRAM integrated, as well as variants where those memories are customer-added. Memory is therefore an ordering-code decision, not a single family-wide configuration. Check the precise part number and current datasheet before committing to a design.

Match the interface and pinout to the host architecture
Product pages list SDIO 3.0, UART, gSPI, I2C, I2S, PWM, PDM, PCM, GPIO and SMIF. That list does not mean every interface can be used simultaneously or on any chosen pins. Check current pin assignments, electrical limits and software support against the design; this matters particularly when using NCP mode and connecting an existing host.

Validate antenna, layout and approvals
Both parts are compact 7 × 11 × 1.4 mm surface-mount components for integration into a product, not plug-and-play USB Wi-Fi adapters. Ezurio’s materials discuss reference antenna approaches, and its announcement names FlexMIMO, FlexPIFA and Mini NanoBlade Flex options. An antenna or module certification does not automatically certify every finished product, antenna placement or regional configuration. Follow the current RF, layout, power and regulatory guidance for the exact design.
Plan the software and security integration
Ezurio identifies MODUS Toolbox support and vendor-stated security capabilities including WPA2/3, secure boot and related mechanisms. Those capabilities do not by themselves make a finished product secure: implementation, configuration and ongoing updates remain product responsibilities. The IF912 support page and IF913 support page list documentation and development resources. Ezurio’s listings include a July 2026 host-platform integration matrix, an April 2026 development-kit guide, and application notes covering provisioning, Wi-Fi scanning, testing and the AT command interface. Consult the current versions relevant to the selected part and mode.

Availability and evaluation
Ezurio’s August 27, 2026 announcement said the modules were in stock through its distributor network and development kits were available for shipment at that time. Stock and pricing change; check current listings with Ezurio or a distributor. A development kit is the practical next step for engineers who need to evaluate software, interfaces and RF behavior before committing to a module design.
