Henry was indicted in September 2026 on bank fraud, access device fraud and bribery charges. An indictment is an accusation, not a finding of guilt.
What prosecutors say happened
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia, Henry, 35, of Stone Mountain, worked as a universal banker at Ameris Bank locations in the Atlanta area in 2021. Prosecutors allege that from September through November of that year, on at least six occasions, she used account numbers and other identifying information belonging to six Ameris customers to link their accounts to Coinbase accounts controlled by alleged co-conspirators.
The government says approximately $931,500 was transferred from the customers’ Ameris accounts to those Coinbase accounts. Prosecutors also allege that Henry received more than $1,000 for taking part. Those figures are allegations in the case, not court findings of actual loss or payment.
Charges and case status
A federal grand jury returned the indictment on September 22, 2026. Henry appeared in federal court on September 25 after her arrest. The charges listed by prosecutors are bank fraud, access device fraud and bribery. The FBI investigated the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Cathelynn Tio is prosecuting it.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced the case on September 28, 2026. As of WSB-TV’s local report on October 3, the reviewed public reports did not state a trial date, plea, conviction or other outcome. The case may have changed since then.

What the allegations do—and do not—establish
The government’s account describes alleged misuse of customers’ bank information and transfers to cryptocurrency accounts associated with alleged co-conspirators. It does not establish that Coinbase was charged or knowingly participated. Nor do the reviewed reports say whether customers were reimbursed, whether any funds were recovered, or what security measures were in place.

U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg said Henry “allegedly stole sensitive information to facilitate nearly $1 million of fraudulent transfers from victims’ bank accounts to cryptocurrency accounts controlled by her co-conspirators.” The language is an allegation: the indictment contains charges only. Henry is presumed innocent, and prosecutors must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.
