Is Evernote being discontinued?
Not according to the official information available as of October 7, 2026. Evernote’s product updates describe v11, launched in January 2026, and later improvements. Its download page continues to offer apps and the Web Clipper. These pages show ongoing product activity; they are not a guarantee of future service.

What has actually been discontinued?
Pre-v10 legacy apps
Evernote says it decommissioned clients released before v10 on macOS, Windows, and Android on March 26, 2024; its notice says the iOS version was decommissioned earlier. The company directs users who want to continue using Evernote to the latest version. This change affects unsupported older software, not the service as a whole. See Evernote’s legacy-client notice.

Personal and Professional plan names
Evernote’s FAQ says its Personal and Professional individual plans have been retired and replaced by Starter and Advanced. That is a change to subscription options, not an announcement that Evernote accounts are ending. Evernote says price changes apply no sooner than the next scheduled billing date; subscribers who do not agree can cancel before the new price takes effect. Available options and transition details can vary by account and billing provider.
The FAQ, updated April 9, 2026, lists these USD prices and plan limits. Prices shown through Apple or Google may differ, and the published figures are not a guarantee of what a particular account will be charged.

Will you lose your notes if you cancel?
Evernote’s cancellation guidance says existing notes and notebooks are not lost when a paid subscription ends and the account reverts to Free. It says users can view, edit, export, and delete existing notes and notebooks. Free-plan restrictions may prevent creating new notes if the account is above the Free limit.

If you are considering a move, export important notes and verify that they open correctly in the destination before cancelling. This is a precaution, not a claim that a particular migration route has been tested. - Check your current plan and charge: open the Billing page in your Evernote account. Evernote cautions that older settings pages or app-store listings may not show accurate account information.
- Review the next renewal: compare the account’s displayed price and renewal date with the plan-transition notice. If you subscribed through Apple, Google Play, or PayPal, account and cancellation details may be managed through that provider.
- If you decide to cancel: follow the cancellation route for the payment provider you used—Evernote, Apple, Google Play, or PayPal. The timing and handling of refunds are separate; do not assume cancellation guarantees a refund.
- If you still use a pre-v10 app: switch to the latest supported Evernote version before relying on that client.
What does the October 2026 terms update mean?
Evernote says users who signed up before October 1, 2026, will have updated agreements take effect on December 1, 2026. The notice identifies Bending Spoons Operations S.p.A. as the affiliate receiving the contract. It says the update does not change the account, notes, plan, price, or renewal date.
