To accept Google Wallet payments in an AI Builder online store, connect Stripe and enable Google Pay. The wallet may be labeled Google Pay in Stripe even though the store’s help text calls it Google Wallet. Customers are offered it when it is available for their region and they have it configured on their device.
Connect Stripe and enable Google Pay
- In your store management area, open Settings → Payments → Manage Stripe and connect Stripe if it is not already connected.
- Open the Stripe payment settings available from your store. Depending on the account interface, you may instead need to open your connected Stripe account and go to its payment method settings.
- Find Wallets and turn on Google Pay. If your store’s Stripe settings show a direct Google Pay toggle, use that control.
- Save any changes, then test the live checkout with an eligible customer device and account.
Stripe must be enabled before the store can offer the wallet. The controls can appear in different places across account interfaces, so follow the current settings shown for your store. See the AI Builder Google Wallet setup instructions and payment-method troubleshooting guidance.

When customers will see the wallet option
Enabling Google Pay does not guarantee that every customer will see it. Availability depends on the store’s country and currency, the customer’s location, and whether the customer has Google Wallet configured on their device. The platform says the wallet is suggested to customers who have it set up; it is not a universally displayed checkout option.

Troubleshoot a missing Google Pay option
The option is missing from settings
- Confirm Stripe is connected to the store.
- Check the store’s country and currency, and whether Stripe supports the store’s country.
- Look for the Google Pay control both in the store’s Stripe settings and in the connected Stripe account’s payment method settings; the available path can vary.
The setting is enabled but a customer cannot see it
- Confirm the customer has Google Wallet configured on their device.
- Consider the customer’s location and whether the payment method is available there.
- Test checkout with an eligible customer device and account; do not assume that an enabled setting makes the wallet available to every shopper.
The labels or navigation differ
Look for Google Pay, the name used for the Stripe setting, rather than only searching for “Google Wallet.” If the store’s payment settings provide a direct toggle, use it; otherwise, open the connected Stripe account’s payment method settings and check the Wallets section.
Other payment methods
Apple Pay and other Stripe payment methods may also be available in the store’s payment settings, but each has its own regional, provider, currency, or customer-device conditions. Check availability for the store and the customer rather than assuming that enabling one wallet enables another.
