Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWhere to buy the Hefty Scimitar
For the weapon, go to Fort Haight West in southern Limgrave and look north for a Nomadic Merchant. The merchant is a separate stop from the Isolated Merchant’s Shack; the available location guides describe the seller as north of the fort, with PC Gamer placing the merchant northwest of it. Use the fort as your landmark rather than treating the two vendors as nearby.

Do you need to start as Heavy Knight?
No. The Steel set and Hefty Scimitar are associated with the Heavy Knight content, but you do not have to choose Heavy Knight at character creation to obtain the equipment. The official ELDEN RING Patch Notes Version 1.17, dated August 27, 2026, say that equipment for the new starting classes can be purchased from merchants in the Lands Between or found in the world. Bandai Namco’s Tarnished Pack announcement describes the pack as adding two starting classes, new armor, and Torrent appearance customization usable in the base game and Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. The publisher’s Heavy Knight page associates the class with bulky steel armor and a scimitar.
