How do you use the Olive as a double?
Edwards & Co identifies the Second Seat Kit, Carry Cot 2 or 3, and approved capsule configurations as ways to use the Olive as a double. The precise setup depends on the components being used. The manufacturer says double mode requires both upper and lower adapters; the Second Seat Kit includes the lower adapters. - Confirm the exact Olive model and the current configuration instructions in the manufacturer’s manual.
- For a lower seat, use the Olive Second Seat Kit and follow the manual’s instructions for both upper and lower adapters.
- For a carry cot or capsule paired with the main seat, confirm that the specific carry cot or capsule and adapter model are approved for that configuration.
- Before use, check that components are correctly attached and follow the manual’s safety and age guidance.
Do not assume that a seat or adapter from another Edwards & Co stroller is interchangeable. Edwards & Co expressly says the Oscar seat has not been safety tested for the Olive, so it should not be treated as a substitute.
What are the child limits and stroller dimensions?
Edwards & Co states a 22 kg capacity for the Second Seat Kit’s lower seat and says it is for use from six months, or from newborn with the Newborn Insert Cushion. That newborn guidance is conditional on using the insert and following the current manual; it should not be read as approval to use the seat from birth without it. These figures are specifications published by Edwards & Co, not independent measurements. The company says the Olive maintains the same footprint in single- and double-seat modes. For a buying decision, check the folded dimensions against your vehicle’s actual cargo opening and storage space rather than relying on the footprint claim alone.
What does independent testing establish?
CHOICE Australia has a listing for a review of the Olive with Second Seat Kit and publicly shows selected specifications, including a 22 kg maximum per child and a 10 kg basket capacity. However, its expert rating, performance and ease-of-use scores, and safety and durability outcomes are restricted to members on the surfaced page. The manufacturer’s page displays five customer reviews, with visible comments including “So easy to use and assemble” and “Easy to add to the Olive.” Those are individual testimonials hosted by the seller, not an independent usability test or a representative sample.
