The EarFun Wave Pro X packs Bluetooth 6.0, adaptive hybrid ANC, extensive codec support, wired listening and long manufacturer-rated battery life into an over-ear headphone launched at $129.99 in the US. That is a broad feature set for the price, but reviewers disagree on its sound, and Notebookcheck calls its noise cancellation average. It looks like a potential budget banger if you value features and are willing to tune the sound—not an automatic pick for commuters seeking top-tier ANC.
What is the EarFun Wave Pro X?
The Wave Pro X is an over-ear wireless headphone built around dual-coaxial 40 mm and 10 mm dynamic drivers. It supports Bluetooth 6.0, adaptive hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC), transparency mode and wired playback through a 3.5 mm connection. EarFun also lists Auracast, LE Audio, multipoint and a low-latency game mode; these are manufacturer-stated features, not independent performance ratings. Notebookcheck and EarFun Japan list the core specifications, while EarFun’s September 2026 announcement describes the connectivity features.

Notebookcheck lists support for LDAC, SBC, AAC, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless and LC3, along with an eight-microphone system and the EarFun Audio app. The manufacturer identifies Qualcomm’s QCC3095 platform. A 20 Hz–20,000 Hz frequency-response listing describes the stated range; it does not by itself establish how the headphones sound.

Reviewers reached different judgments, so there is no single consensus listening verdict. Notebookcheck’s Vineet Washington found the default EQ less than ideal, but praised the sound after tuning and the app’s customization. Tom’s Guide, by contrast, reported muddy bass on one of its tested tracks. Those are reviewer impressions from their listening, not controlled measurements, and a track-specific complaint does not establish how every genre will sound.

EQ flexibility is one of the Wave Pro X’s more useful features if the factory tuning does not suit you. Pragmatic Audio describes an app screen with ten fully parametric filters; it also discloses that EarFun supplied its review unit. Read Pragmatic Audio’s review for its account of that EQ interface. The available evidence does not establish that every reviewer used the same settings or listening conditions, so treat the tuning results as personal experience rather than a guaranteed improvement.
Is the ANC good enough for commuting?
Notebookcheck describes the ANC as average. That suggests it may be useful for reducing some ambient noise, but the cited reviews do not provide a shared controlled comparison or attenuation figures that would show how it performs against specific rivals. Tom’s Guide also discusses the headphones’ connectivity and comfort, but the available findings do not establish a stronger ANC verdict that would resolve the difference between feature breadth and noise-cancelling performance. Tom’s Guide’s review is useful for its separate hands-on assessment.

If strong noise cancellation is your main reason to buy, compare current hands-on reviews of the alternatives before choosing. The Wave Pro X has adaptive hybrid ANC on its feature list, but that label alone does not tell you how much noise it removes in a train, plane or office.
How comfortable are they for long sessions?
Notebookcheck’s reviewer found the headphones comfortable, including while wearing glasses, and Tom’s Guide also reports strong comfort. EarFun lists the weight at approximately 259 g. Comfort still depends on head shape, fit and clamping preference, so individual experience can differ; the reviews cited here do not establish that they will suit every wearer.

How long does the battery last?
EarFun claims up to 90 hours of playback with ANC off and up to 50 hours with ANC on. It also claims a 15-minute charge can provide up to 10 hours of playback. These are manufacturer figures, not independent runtime test results; EarFun notes that actual playback depends on volume and audio content. Notebookcheck praises battery life, but the cited material does not provide a comparable lab result for a direct battery-life ranking.
What do you get, and can you use them for workouts?
The reviewed package includes a hard-shell case, a USB-A-to-USB-C charging cable and a 3.5 mm audio cable. The evidence does not identify an extra accessory buyers must purchase for ordinary wired or wireless use.

| Option | What the cited material establishes | How to compare |
|---|---|---|
| EarFun Wave Pro X | $129.99 US launch price in EarFun’s September 3, 2026 announcement; ¥16,990 on EarFun Japan’s page when observed in 2026. | Broad codec and connection support, EQ options, comfort and manufacturer-rated battery life, weighed against reviewer-reported average ANC and mixed sound impressions. |
| Soundcore Space 2 | Tom’s Guide listed it among competitors at $129 in its September 2026 review; comparable codec support, comfort, ANC and durability details are not stated in the cited material. | Check current reviews and local pricing, especially if ANC is the deciding factor. |
| JBL Live 670NC | Tom’s Guide listed it among competitors at $129 in its September 2026 review; comparable codec support, comfort, ANC and durability details are not stated in the cited material. | Compare current reviews for the features that matter most to you rather than choosing on the listed price alone. |
Those competitor prices are snapshots from Tom’s Guide, not current quotes or evidence that the three models perform alike. The cited material does not provide a shared test of their sound, ANC or battery life, so it cannot support a definitive performance ranking.
Who should buy the EarFun Wave Pro X?
Consider the Wave Pro X if you want a versatile over-ear set with wired fallback, broad codec support, an adjustable sound profile and a long manufacturer-rated battery life, and if you are comfortable treating ANC as a possible compromise. Its comfort reports are encouraging, but fit is personal.
Look elsewhere if your priorities are proven strong ANC, dependable sweat or water protection, or a sound profile you already know you like without EQ adjustment. The reviews support a promising feature set, not a universal recommendation: Notebookcheck liked the tuned sound and comfort, while Tom’s Guide reported muddy bass on a tested track.
