Dyson Total Restore is the name Dyson Australia uses for its MyDyson Care deep-cleaning service—not a combined cleaning-and-repair package. The Australian service covers specified cordless models, with collection or drop-off and professional disassembly and cleaning. Repairs and replacement parts are separate, and availability, eligibility and prices vary by country.
What Dyson Total Restore includes in Australia
Dyson Australia links its Total Restore support option to MyDyson Care. Dyson describes a process in which specialists disassemble the vacuum and clean its filter, engine body, cyclone, bin and motorized cleaner heads. The service is intended to remove dust accumulated through everyday use; it is distinct from a product guarantee for defects in materials or workmanship.

Dyson’s description of the service says: “Our team of dedicated experts will collect your vacuum, professionally clean it using the latest technologies, and return it to you as good as new.” That is Dyson’s characterization, not an independently verified performance result.

According to Dyson, the filter is cleaned with compressed air and sterilized; compressed air is also used on the engine body and cyclone. The bin is washed and sterilized. Brushes are cleaned with high-pressure equipment, with motorized heads protected during the process. These are Dyson’s own descriptions of its methods.

Which Australian models are listed as eligible?
Dyson Australia’s MyDyson Care page lists these cordless vacuum families: V16 Piston, V15s Detect Submarine, Gen5detect, V15 Detect, V12, V11, Cyclone V10 and V8. The list is market-specific and may change. Check the current Dyson Australia MyDyson Care page for your exact model before arranging service.
How to arrange the Australian service
- Contact Dyson Australia’s care team to book and confirm that your model is eligible.
- Choose the available handover option: Dyson says it can provide a free Australia Post shipping label, or you can drop the vacuum at a store or service centre.
- After cleaning, Dyson returns the vacuum if you used its collection service. Confirm the current process and any timing directly with Dyson when booking.
Does the service repair a vacuum too?
No. The deep-clean service does not include repairs or replacement parts. If Dyson determines that repair or a replacement part is needed, it says it will contact the owner and explain the relevant charges. Cleaning should therefore not be treated as a diagnosis, a repair, or a guarantee that a vacuum’s performance will improve.

Dyson’s service page does not provide measured results for suction recovery, longer machine life or energy savings. Its statements about peak performance and longevity are vendor claims, not outcomes supported there by named statistics or an independent study.
Prices and repair terms depend on the country
There is no single price or set of terms established here for every market. Dyson Japan lists standalone deep cleaning at ¥13,200, including tax, and an additional ¥5,500 for cleaning when combined with paid repair. Its page says repair-plus-cleaning pricing depends on warranty status. These are Japan-specific prices; check Dyson Japan’s cleaning-service page for current terms.

Dyson’s US repair process is separate from the Australian Total Restore/MyDyson Care offer. Under US warranty terms, qualifying in-warranty failures are repaired or replaced without charge. For out-of-warranty work or excluded damage, Dyson provides an estimate after inspection and requires approval before repair begins. Those conditions apply to US repairs, not to a deep-clean booking in another country.
US repair logistics are not deep-clean guarantees
Dyson’s US terms say shipped repairs typically return in 14–21 working days. On-site repairs may take another 5–10 business days if parts are unavailable or the service takes longer. These are estimates in Dyson’s US repair terms, not promised turnaround times for Total Restore or other markets. US customers shipping a machine must contact Dyson first to arrange a carrier label and confirm proof of purchase. Dyson’s terms state that genuine repair parts or tools carry a one-year warranty.

At participating US locations, a loan machine may be available if repair takes longer, subject to availability and local terms. Some repairs may be handled by independent repair centres, which Dyson says are responsible for their own estimates and arrangements. Check who is performing and standing behind the repair, as well as the estimate, shipping responsibility, expected timing and any loaner availability.
Cleaning, repair or a replacement part?
If the vacuum is dusty but otherwise working, a professional clean may be relevant where the service is offered and your model qualifies. If it has a defect or a damaged component, ask Dyson about repair separately and compare the estimate with the machine’s warranty status. If you only need a filter, Dyson directs owners to model-specific genuine parts; for example, a V15 Detect replacement-filter listing is an option for that model. Check exact compatibility before buying. A replacement filter is not stated to be required for MyDyson Care.
