Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallThere is no verified four-dryer hands-on test behind the claim in the original headline, so the fairest useful answer is a sourced comparison rather than a first-person verdict. The Shark SpeedStyle Pro, Laifen Swift models, and Dreame Glory Mix offer different trade-offs, but none should be treated as an identical Dyson Supersonic: compare the exact model and bundle, its controls and attachments, and evidence from the market where you plan to buy.
What counts as a Dyson Supersonic alternative?
“Dupe” is a loose shopping term, not proof that a dryer matches the Supersonic’s performance. A high RPM figure, a similar shape, or a lower price alone cannot establish equivalent drying or styling results. A more useful comparison looks at handling, control options, included attachments, and what a named reviewer actually observed.

The evidence here covers three alternatives: Shark SpeedStyle Pro, Laifen Swift and Swift Special, and Dreame Glory Mix. It does not establish a four-product test set or firsthand results from the author. The review findings below are attributed to their publishers rather than presented as a new test.
Shark SpeedStyle Pro vs. the original Dyson Supersonic
Woman & Home compared the Shark SpeedStyle Pro with the original Dyson Supersonic—not the Supersonic Nural or Supersonic r. Its UK comparison lists these RRPs and specifications; the prices are listed RRPs, not current offers.
#1 Best Overall
- Protects hair from extreme heat damage, with fast drying and controlled styling to help increase smoothness by 75%, increase shine by up to 132%, and decrease frizz and flyaways by up to 61%¹
- Fast drying. The small, powerful motor combined with Air Multiplier technology produces a high-pressure, high-velocity jet of controlled air for fast drying and precision styling.
- Intelligent heat control. The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer measures air temperature over 40 times a second and regulates the heat. This prevents extreme heat damage, to help protect your hair's shine.
- The magnetic Styling concentrator attachment adjusts quickly and easily. Heat Shield technology keeps the surfaces of the attachment cool, even during close up styling.
- Acoustically tuned. The powerful motor is tuned to produce one inaudible frequency.

These are the source’s comparison figures, not an independent lab test. Woman & Home describes the Shark as lightweight and says its attachments are intelligent: the dryer adjusts heat and speed when an attachment is fitted. Those are the publication’s product descriptions and review conclusions.
Attachments depend on the bundle
Woman & Home says Shark bundles vary from three to five attachments. Its Straight and Wavy package includes a concentrator, de-frizzing attachment, and smooth brush; the five-attachment bundle adds a diffuser and round brush. The source lists Dyson attachments including a concentrator, smoothing nozzle, diffuser, wide-tooth comb, flyaway attachment, and gentle air attachment. Package contents can differ by region and sale bundle, so check the exact listing rather than assuming every box contains the same tools.
Laifen Swift vs. Swift Special: similar published power figures, different nozzles
Laifen’s US comparison lists the Swift and Swift Special with the same manufacturer-published specifications: 110,000 rpm, 49 mph wind speed, and 1,400 W maximum power. Laifen also lists a thermostat algorithm operating 100 times per second for each model. These are manufacturer claims, not independent measurements of real-world drying speed.

- Dyson Supersonic hair dryer designed for travel. 32% smaller and 25% lighter than Dyson Supersonic Nural. Still mighty.
- Travel ready with universal voltage that adapts automatically, for uncompromised performance when traveling abroad.
- Lightweight and compact, for easy portability.
- Healthier hair compared to drying and styling with a hotel hair dryer.³
- Intelligent heat control and powerful Air Multiplier technology deliver fast, efficient styling, even on the move.
| Model | Laifen-listed attachments | Laifen-listed motor, wind speed, and power |
|---|---|---|
| Swift | Smooth nozzle | 110,000 rpm; 49 mph; 1,400 W maximum |
| Swift Special | Smooth, diffuser, and concentrator nozzles | 110,000 rpm; 49 mph; 1,400 W maximum |
For curly or coily hair, the practical distinction is whether the precise package includes a diffuser. The model name alone is not enough to establish what comes in the box.

In a hands-on comparison published on 22 August 2025, Tom’s Guide writer Lucy Scotting tested the Laifen SE 2 against the Dreame Glory Mix. Both were reported to include diffuser, smoothing, and concentrator nozzles. The article says the Laifen SE 2 launched in Australia in July 2025 at AU$299 and was then unavailable in the US and UK; the Dreame Glory Mix launched in 2023 at AU$349 and was described as globally available at the time of the article. Availability can change, and those launch prices are not current-price guarantees.
Scotting wrote: “While the Dreame was definitely speedier in some cases, the Laifen was consistent in my tests for everyday hair drying and styling.” She also described the Dreame as feeling more powerful at a slower setting and recommended Laifen from a budget standpoint. These are findings and judgments from that reviewer’s particular comparison, not a universal ranking or a promise that either dryer will perform the same for every hair type.
Quick Recap
How to choose between these alternatives
- Start with the exact Dyson you mean. The Shark figures above compare against the original Supersonic, not the Nural or Supersonic r.
- Choose by attachment needs. Confirm diffuser inclusion if you rely on one, and check nozzle and brush contents for the exact model, regional package, and seller.
- Treat headline motor numbers as specifications, not outcomes. Manufacturer-listed RPM, wind speed, and wattage do not by themselves show how fast a dryer will work on your hair.
- Use review findings in context. The Laifen SE 2/Dreame review reflects one writer’s Australia-market test published in 2025; it does not establish which is best for all users.
- Verify purchase details locally. Check regional availability, seller, current price, warranty, and included accessories before buying; bundles and offers may change.
