The Dyson 360 Vis Nav is a capable vacuum-only robot with dust-responsive cleaning, an edge-focused design and app-based room controls. Its limits matter just as much: it does not mop or empty its own bin, and an independent comparison flags corner coverage, navigation pauses, battery life in larger homes and value at its price as concerns. It makes most sense for buyers who want a Dyson robot vacuum and are willing to handle those trade-offs.
What the Dyson 360 Vis Nav does
Announced on 23 May 2023, the 360 Vis Nav combines a 360-degree camera with SLAM mapping, a D-shaped body, a full-width brush bar and an extending side duct intended to direct suction toward walls and edges. Dyson says it uses 26 sensors and processes up to 10,000 data points per second; those are manufacturer descriptions, not independent proof of navigation performance. Dyson’s launch announcement explains the design.

The brush bar combines soft woven nylon for larger debris, anti-static carbon-fibre filaments for fine dust on hard floors and stiff nylon bristles for carpets. Dyson gives a maximum threshold-climbing height of 0.8 inches and says the robot can fit beneath furniture with 3.9 inches of clearance. These are launch-page specifications, so check your thresholds and furniture measurements rather than assuming the robot will clear every obstacle.
Cleaning, mapping and app controls
MyDyson app setup is required for intelligent features. Dyson lists room mapping, schedules, customized cleaning, room zones, no-go areas and estimated cleaning times. The four modes are Auto, Quick, Quiet and Boost: Auto responds to dust detection, while Boost targets embedded dirt at the cost of battery life. Alexa and Google Assistant compatibility are also listed on Dyson’s US product page.
#1 Best Overall
- The world's most powerful robot vacuum.¹ 2x the suction of any other robot vacuum.¹
- Sucks up more than any other robot on all floors.² Dyson's first brush bar to combine three ways to deep clean. Engineered with a wide diameter to reduce long hair and pet hair tangling.
- Control your clean or let your Dyson robot do it for you. Choose between four power modes: Auto, Boost, Quick, and Quiet. In Auto mode, the 360 Vis Nav robot vacuum automatically adapts suction power to debris level.³
- Unlike side sweepers that flick dirt away, Dyson sucks up dirt right to the edge of your wall. An automatic extending side duct redirects suction that's powerful enough to capture debris right up to the wall.
- Cleans far. Cleans fast. An 11.8-inch brush bar covers more floor with every sweep, and Quick mode prioritizes speedy cleans. Up to 65 minutes of run time, before automatically recharging, ready to clean again.⁴
TechRadar’s expert comparison, dated 18 September 2026, describes Auto-mode performance as impressive and lists low-effort cleaning, edge pickup and four modes among the robot’s strengths. The same comparison says it can struggle with corners and may pause to reorient during navigation. Those are reviewer observations, not guaranteed outcomes in every home.
How long does the battery last?
Dyson specifies up to 65 minutes in Quiet mode in an unobstructed environment. The robot can return to its dock to recharge and resume cleaning; a full recharge is listed as 1 hour 55 minutes. These are Dyson’s US product-page figures, and the 65-minute maximum is tied to Quiet mode and the stated unobstructed condition.

- INCREDIBLE SUCTION: Powerful Shark suction picks up dirt and debris on all floor types—tackling even the toughest of messes in your home.
- NO SPOTS MISSED: With Matrix Clean Navigation, the vacuum cleans in a precise matrix grid taking multiple passes over dirt and debris for whole home, deep cleaning coverage.
- IT EMPTIES ITSELF: The bagless, self-emptying base holds up to 30 days of dirt and debris while its true HEPA filtration captures and traps 99.97%* of dust and allergens (*down to .3 microns).
- PRECISION HOME MAPPING: 360° LiDAR vision quickly and accurately maps your home so your robot can methodically clean detecting and avoiding objects in its path, day or night, adapting to everyday changes in the home.
- PERFECT FOR HOMES WITH PETS: With powerful vacuum suction, Shark’s self-cleaning brushroll, and HEPA filtration system the robot captures pet hair, dust, dander and allergens with ease.
TechRadar lists a 50-minute maximum runtime in its 2026 comparison and reports that Boost lasted around 15 minutes in its use. Its figures and observation should not be treated as the same test protocol as Dyson’s mode-specific specification. TechRadar also warns that battery life may be subpar for large homes, making your floor area and chosen mode important to the buying decision.

This is a vacuum-only robot; Dyson says it must not be used on damp or wet floors. Its dock charges the robot but does not automatically empty its onboard bin, so you will need to empty that bin yourself. TechRadar identifies the lack of both mopping and self-emptying as meaningful omissions compared with competing robots.

Is it good for pet hair, carpets and edges?
The brush-bar materials indicate a design intended to handle larger debris, fine dust on hard floors and carpet dirt, while TechRadar lists edge pickup as a strength. But the available independent comparison does not establish a dedicated pet-hair result or a universal carpet-cleaning outcome. Its corner caveat is also relevant: an edge-oriented side duct does not mean every corner will be cleaned thoroughly. If pet hair or deep carpet cleaning is your deciding factor, look for model-specific independent results for your flooring and debris rather than relying on the design description alone.

| Weight | 4.5 kg / 9.9 lb, as listed by TechRadar in its expert comparison dated 18 September 2026. |
| Bin capacity | Approximately 0.57–0.6 L, as listed by TechRadar in its expert comparison dated 18 September 2026. |
| Maximum runtime | Dyson: up to 65 minutes in Quiet mode in an unobstructed environment; TechRadar: 50 minutes maximum in its comparison. The figures have different stated contexts. |
| Suction figure | 65 air watts, as listed by TechRadar in its expert comparison dated 18 September 2026. |
| Charging | Dyson specifies 1 hour 55 minutes for a full recharge on its US product page. |
| Dock | Charging dock; no automatic bin emptying, according to Dyson’s product description and TechRadar’s comparison. |
TechRadar’s comparison is the source for the independent assessment and its listed figures above. Its overall criticism is that the robot compares poorly with alternatives at its price, alongside the concerns about battery life in large homes, corners, navigation pauses and missing mopping and self-emptying. Since value depends on the price actually available to you, compare it with other robots at current prices and consider pickup, coverage, runtime, app controls and upkeep—not just brand or suction claims. Maintenance, support and buying checks
Dyson describes the brush bar and lifetime filter as washable and directs US owners to official spares. The filter is presented as a washable, lifetime component, not a routine consumable. In Canada, Dyson’s support page lists lifetime HEPA filter part 970494-01; it showed CA$29.99 and out of stock when accessed on 4 October 2026. That is a regional, time-sensitive listing, not a current availability guarantee. The Canadian support page also links to mapping instructions, filter washing, the manual, software updates and repair booking: Dyson Canada 360 Vis Nav support.

Quick Recap
Who should buy it?
- Consider it if you want a Dyson-branded robot focused on vacuum pickup, value app-based mapping and dust-responsive Auto mode, and do not need mopping or automatic bin emptying.
- Compare alternatives first if you have a large home, need stronger evidence of corner or obstacle performance, or expect self-emptying, mopping or a better value proposition at the price available to you.
- Check fit before ordering by measuring thresholds and clearance, confirming app and voice-assistant needs, and checking current regional stock, warranty and support details.
