For a higher frame-rate target, start with Performance Mode; choose Quality Mode if you prefer its lower 30 fps target. Funcom lists both modes at upscaled 4K on PS5 and PS5 Pro, but these are announced specifications—not independent measurements of frame rate, image quality, or stability. For controls, adjust sensitivity, inversion, remapping, vibration, and adaptive trigger effects to suit your comfort; the PlayStation Store confirms these options but does not identify a universally best setup.
Which graphics mode should you use?
Funcom’s specifications for the September 22, 2026 PS5 launch give Performance Mode a 60 fps target and Quality Mode a 30 fps target on both PS5 models. Both are described as upscaled 4K, which does not mean native 4K. These are targets stated by the developer, not measured results from testing on retail consoles. Funcom’s PlayStation Blog announcement is the source for the mode specifications.

Choose Performance Mode for the higher target
Pick Performance Mode if responsiveness and the higher announced frame-rate target matter most to you. The developer specifies frame generation for this mode on base PS5, but not on PS5 Pro. That difference alone does not establish how either version looks or feels in play.
Choose Quality Mode for the 30 fps target
Quality Mode is the alternative if you prefer the listed 30 fps target. Funcom still describes it as upscaled 4K on both consoles. The available specifications do not provide a measured comparison of image detail, frame pacing, or sustained performance, so they cannot establish that one mode looks better or runs more consistently.

How to adjust controller settings
The PlayStation Store listing for Dune: Awakening confirms controller remapping, adjustable stick sensitivity and inversion, and options to play without controller vibration or adaptive trigger effects. It also lists accessibility options such as clear and large text, reduced camera movement and effects, adjustable individual audio volumes, and advanced, clear, or large subtitles. The listing does not document exact menu paths or numerical sensitivity ranges.
Tune the controls to your comfort
- Stick sensitivity: Adjust it until aiming and camera movement feel manageable to you. The listing supplies no value established as best for combat, vehicles, or exploration.
- Inversion: Set stick inversion according to your preferred camera or look direction.
- Remapping: Use the basic remapping option to put supported actions on controls that feel more accessible.
- Vibration and adaptive triggers: Disable either or both if their effects distract you or feel uncomfortable; the store listing confirms that play without these effects is supported.
Because the source confirms the options but gives no numeric ranges or recommended presets, treat adjustment as personal preference rather than a performance fix.

What to try if performance seems to worsen
If the game has been left running or suspended for a long time and performance appears to degrade, Funcom’s current known-issues support page advises giving the console game a proper restart. The notice does not promise a specific frame-rate improvement, and a restart is not evidence that a particular graphics mode is defective.

Funcom currently notes that some console settings may not carry over when the same account and save are used on another device, and accessibility settings may not remain tied to the active profile. If those options appear to have changed, reapply your preferences; support notices can change over time.

The same support page says some custom single-player settings may be temporarily overridden in story areas if they interfere with gameplay or mission completion. This concerns custom gameplay settings, not the PS5 graphics modes above. A separate Help Center note about PS5 controllers requiring Steam Input applies to using those controllers on PC, not to the PS5 console version.
