Yes—vMix can send video to a YouTube live event you scheduled in YouTube Studio. But no, vMix does not provide a built-in time-of-day schedule for running a full 24/7 programming lineup. For one scheduled event, you still start the output in vMix and, when its preview appears in YouTube Studio, select Go Live there. For continuous playback without fixed program start times, vMix’s PlayList or List features can loop videos.
What “scheduled” means in this workflow
A scheduled YouTube event and an automated channel-wide programming schedule are different things. YouTube Studio can hold a scheduled event; vMix can send its output to that event. That does not make vMix a 24/7 scheduler that automatically starts different programs at set times. vMix’s knowledge-base article, “Does vMix support scheduling?”, last updated January 17, 2025, says it “does not support time of day scheduling.” Read vMix’s scheduling explanation.

Send vMix to a YouTube event scheduled in Studio
- Create and schedule the event in YouTube Studio. Use YouTube Studio’s scheduling option for the live event.
- Copy the event’s stream key into vMix. Select the YouTube Live destination and enter the key associated with that event.
- Start streaming from vMix. This begins sending the vMix output; it does not itself publish the scheduled event.
- Check the preview in YouTube Studio. When it appears, select Go Live in Studio to publish the event.
vMix’s documented process says the outgoing stream can be started before the scheduled time, but still includes the YouTube Studio Go Live action. The exact Studio screens may change; follow the current labels in your account. See vMix’s YouTube Live instructions and its YouTube Studio workflow guide.
Use PlayList or List for a simple continuous loop
If the goal is to keep a sequence of videos playing without specific start times, vMix describes its PlayList and List features as options for basic continuous playout. They can play videos sequentially and loop; they are playback tools, not time-of-day program schedulers.

- 【HDMI LOOP-OUT】Based on the high-speed USB 3.0 technology, it can capture one single channel HD HDMI video signal. There is no delay when you are playing game live.
- 【Support Mic-in for Commentary】Rybozen capture card has microphone input and you can use it to add external commentary when playing a game. Please note: it only accepts 3.5mm TRS standard microphone headset.
PlayList
PlayList can play multiple videos sequentially or automate switching tasks. The vMix User Guide documents looping back to the beginning when playback finishes, plus per-item controls for starting position, duration, transition, and transition duration. This suits a repeating sequence, but does not create a clock-based lineup such as “start program B at 8 p.m.” See the vMix User Guide’s PlayList page.
List
List plays a video list as a single input and supports loop and randomize behavior, according to vMix’s scheduling article. vMix notes that List avoids loading every video at once, which can reduce resource use compared with loading all videos simultaneously. It remains a playback list rather than a timed scheduler. The feature descriptions are from vMix documentation; check the current guide for details applicable to your installed release.

| Need | What the documented workflow supports |
|---|---|
| Broadcast one event that was scheduled in YouTube Studio | Send vMix output using the event’s stream key, then select Go Live in Studio when the preview appears. |

| Automatically start named programs at exact times around the clock | vMix says it does not provide time-of-day scheduling for this kind of programming lineup. |
What about vMix Scheduler?
vMix’s scheduling article mentions an open-source third-party project called vMix Scheduler, but says it is no longer maintained, may not work with current vMix versions, and is not supported by vMix. Treat it as an unverified option rather than a dependable current solution unless you separately confirm compatibility with your exact setup.
