No. The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is a single-player game; Owlcat has not announced co-op or multiplayer. The crew and companions you command are AI-controlled characters, not other human players.
Is The Expanse: Osiris Reborn multiplayer?
No. In an interview published December 15, 2025, Owlcat CTO Alexey Drobyshevsky said the team removed multiplayer because it did not suit the game: “But then we decided our game isn’t really working that well as multiplayer, so we scrapped it.” The interview with Owlcat developers is the clearest direct statement about the decision.

The PlayStation Store listing provides platform-specific corroboration: it identifies the game as “1 player” and says “Offline play enabled.” Those labels describe the PlayStation listing; they should not be taken as a universal specification of online services on every platform. Do companions or squad commands mean co-op?
No. The game includes a crew and companions who support the player, and you can issue them real-time commands. They are part of the solo-player design, not additional human players joining your session. Xbox Wire’s gameplay overview describes the combat, companions, and commands.

What kind of game is Osiris Reborn?
Owlcat announced The Expanse: Osiris Reborn on June 6, 2025 as a third-person science-fiction action RPG set in The Expanse universe. You play a Pinkwater Security mercenary caught in a lockdown on Eros and pulled into a larger conspiracy. The premise includes leading a crew and taking command of a ship, but those story and gameplay elements do not make it a multiplayer game. Owlcat’s announcement outlines the setting and premise.
When is it coming out, and which platforms are listed?
As of October 4, 2026, Xbox Wire lists a planned Spring 2027 release window for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud. The PlayStation Store lists a 2027 release. These are announced plans for an upcoming game, so the window and platform details may change.
