Sony’s support guidance does not offer a GPS feature or map-based workflow for locating a stolen PS5. If yours is stolen, focus on securing your PlayStation account, signing out and remotely deactivating devices, removing payment methods, and contacting Support; the console’s serial number may help establish ownership, but it is not a tracker.
What to do if your PS5 was stolen
- Secure your account. Change your sign-in method and follow Sony’s account-recovery steps if you cannot access your account. If you suspect someone accessed it, contact PlayStation Support. Sony account support [c001] [c002]
- Sign out and deactivate devices. Sign out of PlayStation on all devices, then deactivate consoles. If you cannot access the stolen PS5, use Account Management to remotely deactivate all devices. Does the PS5 have GPS tracking?
Sony’s published owner guidance does not provide a way to see a PS5’s location on a map. That is about the consumer-facing recovery features documented by Sony; the reviewed sources do not establish whether every PS5 lacks all hardware that could be location-capable. Where to find the PS5 serial number
Sony says the serial number is on the bottom of the console when it is positioned vertically; remove the base if it obscures the label. If the console is gone, check a photo of the label, original packaging, or purchase records. You can also ask Support what ownership details it can verify, but that is an inquiry—not a promise that Sony can retrieve or disclose the number. Can Sony locate my PS5 using its serial number?
